I think they got it down so it's quicker now. The CF site says "order by Dec. 15 to ensure delivery by Christmas."

ok, this has probably been asked before, but what are the best shoes for playing on the Cobalt Flux? Right now i have Converse All Stars and skate shoes. Will they work well/does it matter?

I use a pair of Saucony running shoes that I love for Flux/DDR play. They're very lightweight and flexible but provide a good deal of support. Skate shoes might kill your arches after a couple of hours.

It is quite durable. Remember this is the pad that they ran over with the SUV.

Tap shoes. Cleats. Anything with metal on the bottom. Other than that, any shoes should be fine. I've had people play on mine wearing hiking boots/shoes.

So my Cobalt finally arrived this Wednesday and I'm definitely liking it. I can't get it to work with Stepmania (I'm off to that thread to see if I can find a solution) but it works with my Xbox perfectly.

I decided to post a little website documenting the unpacking of the Flux for those who wonder how it comes shipped.

Enjoy:

Alrighty, finally got to the point where my pad is what is holding me back (My test to see if I played enough was to see how long until I murdered my soft pad)

I was thinking about buying a Cobalt flux, I hear they are deserving of all the hype. Have they been keeping up on the quality over all this time? And would it be worth buying for a player who plays songs from the 7-9 foot range (10's still are beyond me)?

Has anyone had a broken CF before, and if they let you replace it or something?

Just recently, somebody experienced a crack all the way down the center of the bottom of the pad. CF sent him a brand new pad.

Wow, talk about putting your money where your mouth is. Good for CF...I think they might have sold a pad to me with that.

Goodness, what made that happen? My brother weighs more than 300 lbs., and he couldn't crack my platform.

Seriously, I think my pad is more likely to break me before I break it.

If I recall correctly, the guy was playing on his CF on really thick carpeting. Turns out if the pad doesn't have fairly even support across the base, it is possible to crack it down the middle like that, though it is a rare occurrence.

OK, 2 weeks ago my moom came upstairs and gave me a credit card and said, "Order what you want for Christmas." And then went down stairs.
I obviouslygot my CF.

2 weeks later, and now it just arrived, and its SITTING THERE, and no one is home...
