How Can DDR Possibly Be Gothic?

I assume many of the people in these forums are gothic. Nobody get pist at me for labeling people...because I know I am. Alot of goths in my school play DDR and I always see kids at the arcade dressed in all black with piercings and painted fingernails playing DDR.

Now, how the Hell does this make sense? I realize that some goths are into anime because it can get kind of dark, but seeing these scary looking people with white skin and black clothes playing Love Love Sugar seems wrong to me.

It sounds hilariously wrong.

So question to all the goth DDR players out there, how does DDR fit into the category of "gothic things to do?"

stop labeling us, just because you're a goth doesnt mean there is a specific list of things you can do. i know a goth chick that likes to do grave rubbings and also is a cheerleader. crazy times

actually i've notice a lot of "Goth" kids always playing at my work (tilt).. I've always had the same question.

Yeah, I see many people that are gothic play ddr around my area. I started back up DDR after about a 1 1/2 year break. It was suprising at first. But it's cool though. It's cuz DDR is fun and it has room for expression

To my knowledge, there's only a small handful of goths in my area. We mostly just get Asians and rednecks around here.

I wouldn't doubt that there are a good number of goth DDR players, maybe even some on this forum. However, to assume that there are "many" is a bit of a stretch, don't you think? I'm not saying that there wouldn't be, but the odds seem pretty much against it. I've played DDR in a variety of different locations, and the number of goth players I've seen is very small. Nearly minute.

In addition, I'm not really sure what this thread is asking.

Gothic people are funny cuz all they do is complain on there livejournals about how they hate the world or how there parents don't understand them. That and they all want to work at Hot Topic because no legit business will higher them because of how they dress. You know deep down inside a goth person theres an attention whore just crawling to get out.

This is a moronic thread. First of all in moders times, no goth's exist, in fact, a person cannot be gothic, gothic is not a clothing style, and anyone ignorant enough to push this standard should really just get out a little. At the very least, use the more appropriate term, "mall-core", because it is at the very least, a bit less ignorant. And for the record someone whose style is different than yours, does not make them somehow lesser than you. And no, I don't dress in Hot Topic apparel, but I did work there at one time for some extra cash, and the people I met are some of the nicest, most loyal friends I have.

DDR is'nt goth. some people who claimn them selves goth play it. I dress in dark clothes but I am not goth, smae with my friends that play it. It sounds more like you got something against goths, and you don't want them doing somehing you love to do.

Maybe you should learn what a goth is before you accuse ANYONE of being one. Just because people dress in black or have piercings and such means absolutely nothing to the term. It means they have different dress apparell. It isn't funny at all- everyone has different tastes in music as well.
