Running a23 build of StepMania.
I've installed the noteskins in the appropriate directory, they are available in the config menu to be selected, yet in single and solo, I'm not seeing the skins.
Any ideas?

Are you sure you put it in the right directory?
Stepmania folder > Note skins > Dance > insert the noteskin folder here

yup!
For instance, the NuMetal skin is located:
C:\Program Files\StepMania\NoteSkins\dance\NuMetal
In that NuMetal folder resides all the files to the skin.
It's odd, even the default skins don't show up (but like I said before, they are SELECTABLE). I'm going to do a quick test here on a different machine to see if a clean install of SM fixes the prob. |

Hmm thats odd, numetal should show up in options.
I've installed like 10 different note skins so far with no problems.
Maybe try upgrading to RC2?

Well, 2 things:
Just tried on a different PC here. Works fine. Same install version as on my server at home.
The noteskins are pretty cool.
Also, I think I should be a bit clearer...
The option to choose the skin shows up. But after it's been chosen, the game sticks to the default skin.
I mimic'ed my settings at home, and the skins still show up. I'm not terribly concerned because right now, SM is installed on my Win2k3 server (runs fine really). I'm waiting for ABIT to get my replacement mobo back to me for my main machine.
The server is running a Voodoo3 3000 video card, so I'm going to consider it the culprit here.
