Oh please, you're all attacking Eric Tiko because he makes a statement that is pretty true? I understand if you go to a movie theater to play if it is the only machine around, or if you play after you saw a movie. It's pretty sad when you go to a MOVIE THEATER to play in their arcade. Some places won't even let you in unless you've paid a ticket. Just seems weird.

why is going to play ddr weird or nerdy? if you went to mcdonalds to play because it was close to you, would that be any more nerdy than if it was at an arcade that was just an arcade? maybe we think movies are nerdy. i just don't understand the basis of this argument.

Yeah the CLOSEST ddr machine to my house is like accross the high way (real close) and its in a MOVIE THEATER, the only reason i go there is for --once again-- cause its closest to my house, Who cares where you play ddr, aslong as you are playing ddr everything is cooooooooooool riiight.gif .

I'm also lost at this arguement... Aren't we all players and love DDR? I mean Eric basically just dissed everyone who goes to a theatre to play DDR and not watch a movie... And well TI I don't understand your point either. What's true? The fact people go to a different place to play a machine that could be BETTER than the one at the arcade? Or it's the only one? C'mon I think it's pretty sad to make fun of someone who enjoys playing the same game as you do...very hypocritical I must say.

Anyway just end it this thread isn't about "Why the hell should you play at the theatre" it's, "Do you play at the theatre?" Don't ruin someone's thread by flaming or simply flame bait. It's rude and not needed if you can't respect others for the same game you play.

----Topic Wise----

Well my machine here is at the arcade in the mall, but we do have a theatre inside that's like a minute walk a way from the arcade. Mmm at first I thought there was one here but oh well makes it easier since I'm not a big movie fan but they will let you play the other games sense it's not behind the ticket booth.

Best. Quote. Ever.

And as of the end of November, the only DDR machine close to me is in a movie theater which costs $7 to get in. And they have an army of ticket takers and even a few rent-a-cops at the entrance. So I'm usually stuck having to pay for it. Which is why I hate Maryland!

Back when I was staying with family in California, I'd go into the theatre's arcade and spend the entire time while they were in some crappy ass kids movie (Wild Thornberries and other such crap) playing DDR. I see nothing wrong with keeping my sanity.

Actually, I love DDR, I just can't see myself paying $7.00 for a movie ticket to go play DDR.

No one is getting my point. My point is that if you have to pay to get into the theater just to play DDR it is sad. The fact that you would pay that much to just get into a theater to just play a game that you have to pay MORE money for to play just seems like a waste of money to me. If the theater is free and they don't care then by all means go ahead. I just think it is stupid to pay a cover charge to get to something you have to pay more for when you get there.

not all theaters have it so you have to pay for a ticket just to go play in the arcade.

Then the question is: Would you rather spend $7 to get in to a theatre to play DDR, or spend $10-$15 on gas getting to an arcade you don't have to pay to get in?

Oh, you don't? Heh. I thought you guys were paying $12.00 to get into the theatre, than $1 a game for DDR. Ooop. I didn't know some theatres allowed you to waltz into the arcade.

Exactly. I've NEVER seen a movie theatre where they let you walk in to the arcade.

The local theater with DDR has it, but you MUST see a movie.

The theater is in a mall (its a pretty craptastic theater, too). It had some problems with Riots, so they moved the arcade so that you had to buy a ticket to get in.

Its an aweful machine, It was my first machine, now its a POS.

We have two machines in two theaters here. It usually sucks 'cuz the managers don't care so much about the arcade as they do the actual theater.

at our theater there is a the ticket are then a lobby area then the one way leads to the arcade and the other to the movies. they take the tickets at the entrance to the movie section. its kinda stupid they if they took it at the door before you can go in.
