Before anyone gets all freaked out, an email is going around from [email protected] that contains a virus attached to the file. Please do not open this email, as it is not from anyone that is part of DDR Freak.

EDIT: More info for everyone. The infected file may be named 'product_phone_number.zip'. Do NOT download or open this file, as it has been identified to contain the "W32/Netsky.c@MM" virus.

It's impossible for a server (us, BemaniStyle, etc.) to have the NetSky virus. Well, we don't use Windows Servers so it's impossible E10.gif.
The site will not act oddly because of NetSky specifically.

NetSky is a blaster varient. You know that evil one that forces your computer to shut down in 60 seconds?
Yeah, that one.

BemaniStyle just had some kiddy little hacker. I didn't think they had viruses, just spam being sent out.

If you can't find porn on the Internet, you're not trying.

And for future reference, you'll most likely see a ddrfreak.com email address if it's something important (although some staff members do use a non-ddrfreak email addy).

Spammers have been known to spoof ddrfreak.com addresses as well.

PM's can't (easily) transmit virus'.
Not nearly as easily as e-mails can.

is this one of those "mass" emails, where they send them to everyone they can find, or do they just pick people off a list or something?
