How many of you people go to a movie theater JUST to play DDR and not see a movie? I do it almost every week when I can't go to the more decent DDR locations in Omaha, NE. We only have 2 movie theaters that have DDR machines, and one of them doesn't have the unlocks. YOU CAN'T GET AN EXTREME MACHINE WITHOUT GETTING THE UNLOCKS! |

Yes, one of the only places to play DDR around here is in a movie theater. I go there and play all the time with no intention of seeing a movie. _________________

I used to do that. But sometimes it was hard sneaking in all the time with workers guarding the entrance sometimes. One time I ask If I can go in and just play and they said no. They must've thought I was trying to watch a movie for free. What do you guys do? Do you guys just sneak in? |

There's this awesome cinemaplex next to Fenway Park in central Boston.
It has snack bars full of everykind of sweets.
It has stadium seating that is pleasing to the viewers.
The lobby is decored in a pleasing way.
And yes there is a DDR Extreme Machine there.
But I have yet to play the DDR yet. _________________

I've never had a problem with that... the DDR machine is out in the lobby and they take the tickets closer to the entrance to the theaters, so people come in just to play all the time. _________________

hell yeah I go to the movie theatres to only play some DDR...screw the movie prices here in Nor Cal, damn it's like $9.25 or like $9.75 (I haven't seen a movie in a while, due to the prices...)the cool thing is that the theatre that I play in, I just walk right through the front doors in to the lobby/concession stands, then I make a slight left to the arcade, it's very small, but against the front wall is their wonderful Max 2 machine, and yes, all of their unlocks were unlocked, their pads are in great condition, yet the only bad thing is that the pads are so close to the screen, but I fix the problem every time, I just move the pads back before I play, only 3 tokens for 4 songs... _________________

You guys are really big nerds, just going to a movie theatre to play Dance Dance Revolution. The next time you do that, stop. Look. Take a fucking look at yourselves. |

Guess what is playing at the movie theater I go to.
Bridget Jones
Christmas with the Kranks
The Incredibles
National Treasure
Polar Express
Spongebob Squarepants
Okay, let's see. What would I rather do: Play DDR, or watch one of these movies? I think the real question is, what would I rather do: Eat rusty shrapnel, or watch one of these movies? That shrapnel is looking mighty tasty my friend...
Dance Dance Revolution is always going to be considered nerdy, so sue me if I don't give a shit. People who make fun of me for being a nerd generally have bleak, meaningless lives compared to mine. Life is no fun if you constantly have to be worrying about how people are going to judge you. _________________

When I read the title, I thoght you meant using the huge screens as a TV. And then do the Watch Me Dance mode in Extreme so that everyone can see you in the whole theatre! That would kick colon!
EDIT: GASP!!! How can you say that about Spongebob Squarepants?!? _________________

The theatre I go to doesn't really have a lobby. Or they do, it's just that you have to pay and go through the ticket guy. Also, the doors lead to outside so what I would do is wait for someone to get out then go in really fast before the door shuts. It's pretty lame though so I just go to the arcade these days. |

Wunderland Arcade at the Avalon Theater in Portland, Oregon. It's not the only DDR machine in Portland, or even the best, but my god, it only costs five nickels.
I go there often with the intention of DDRing or playing their other budget-priced arcade games. Their movies are like three dollars, as well. It's cheap as hell. _________________

Dude, chill out. So what if people go to movie theaters and just play DDR? Movies are generally pretty sucky nowadays, and if the closest arcade with a DDR machine is a movie theater for a person and they can get in without paying, why not? In fact, that's sort of the way it is for me. Only problem is there's no way to just get into the arcade and start playing as the DDR machine is behind both the ticket booths and a ticket checker. And I'm not into paying $7.00 just to play DDR. If I didn't have to pay, though, I'd be there all the time. |

Captian Intelligent strikes again.
Way to go, cockmunch. Your retard of the year. Thanks for the intelligent post.
Anyways, our movie theater gets insanely crowded, so there wouldn't even be close to enough room to fit a machine. Even then, they wouldn't put a machine in there, because people would go in there only to play DDR, which could ultimatley mean less ticket sales, which could mean a slight decrease in profit. Which I don't get, because all the money they could get from the machine could add up...well, that's what the manager told me. Hmph. _________________

If the new Theater that's opening up near me has a DDR, I'll be elated, and sneak in all the time.

They just built a new movie theatre where I live, and to my suprise they had a DDR machine in it :O. It's $1/4 songs (Really hard difficulty, final song is almost impossible to pass anything without full comboing it). The only problem is that it's a DDR Megamix machine, and the pads are really stiff. |

Yeah...ok. If you don't like DDR, then don't join forums full of happy nice DDR lovers.
Places I go to to ONLY play DDR:
2 movie theatres
Mall
2 bowling allies
and, for crying out loud, an expensive entance 6 Flags Elich Gardens Theme Park in Denver (look it up in the locations!)
Yeah, DDR is my life, and if it's not yours, yay for you, but if it isn't, yay again. |
