I thought the story was kinda cool, funny at the least. Even though some was ununderstandable(my new word for the day), at least the pictures were funny. |

I got it! A DDR game with story!
Here's how it's played:
Your a cop who likes to listen to music. You "raid" a house [or something] to look for a bad guy. Right before you enter you get to pick a song, and your character puts on his ear phones. He "dances" his way around the house (DDR arrows in the foreground, your character moving in the background). You meet the bad guy and a fight starts. Maybe now the song gets more fast-paced or something, but anyway, dancing will equal dodging bullets and shooting at the bad guy.
That's how something could be done. Add a confusing story about how it's really a simulation, and your boss has been dead for 100 years and BAM! Greatest Hit. Well, I know it's far from the best, but that is one way for it to work. (or maybe not) _________________

...Dude, no. Stress that that no twice as hard to the previous post. I'd rather get a cavity search by a pro wrestler than play DDR with that storyline. _________________

Yeah, that is pretty stupid. There would be absolutely no point to it whatsoever. |

of course not. ive considered a game that had a third person adventure game and you go around all these towns, looking for arcades. and you meet actual characters in the game. along with doing missions like getting cash for playing, or stuff like having to get to an arcade before some people get there first. because theyll hog up the pad or something. stuff like that. i dont think there will be much of a protagonist/antagonist story. more like the main objective is to get better. the way i figured it. it would be a huge multi-disk game where whenever you get to the arcade, depending on the mix, youll choose the songs from the actual game and get to dance. |

DDR with a story? Gawd, that'd be like that stupid Dreamcast game Space Channel 5, or whatever it was called. It'd be like, "I get to save the world by stepping on these arrows! Oh Boy!!!!!!" Except the Oh Boy would be Oh Gawd! and the fun would be replaced by the urge to kill things. _________________

Mortal Kombat did it, why not DDR? Deadly Alliance had that linear battle structure story / training mode. I say if you had a game that had regular game mode and then this story mode as well, with well-known DDR characters going through the country / world / w/e competing in tournaments and learning background information about your character along the way, that would sell incredibly well, under two conditions. 1. It's an extra in addition to game more. 2. The songlist doesn't suck.
Or maybe a freestyle incorporation. Specific combinations do special moves? _________________

Certainly yes!! It would ruin the very basis of all DDR! Bemani is all about music and the joys of dancing to hyper Japa-Euro techno fusions! It is not about anime-like story lines or any plot for that matter. DDR is an interactive jukebox! _________________
