Hey everyone. My name is Mike and I live in a small town called Swansea in Massachusettes. For years I didnt know about or play D.D.R. Then I met my friend Jeff. Hes not what youd call a D.D.R. Freak but hes very good. He inspired me to start playing it (that and its a really fun game and I love techno music). Im not very good but Im practicing and getting better. |

Davyinatoga wrote: | Best bet: Go with a PS2. You could play it on Xbox, but there's only 2 mixes for it, while you could play 6 on a PS2. You could probably hook up any system to a TV like that. My TV's older than I am by several years, and my N64 connects easily to it.
Pads: Depends on your budget. I recommend Madcatz soft pads for you. Reliable and cheap for beginners and newbies.
FAQ's: Yeah, there's several of them. On the home page, there's a link on the left to a page of FAQs for all sorts of things. I'd also read the DDR Dictionary, and you could even search for machines. All these links are on the left, so it's all there for you easily accessible!
And actually, X-box doesn't make any of the music. It's all explained in the FAQs.
There you go, Eric. Happy DDR trails! |
Thank you Davy, this really got me on my way!
I will definitely be getting PS2, because everyone I have talked to says that is much better than xBox (both DDR and non-DDR types told me this).
Also, from what I saw on the song lists, I'm not absolutely convinced that you can play the Disney mix on xBox, but you apparently can on PS2, and I really want the Disney mix.
I'm also happy to know PS2 should work with my "old" TV.
As for a pad, I'm actually thinking of a metal one, either plain or arcade replica. But, I haven't found any in stores. Guess it's back to the Internet to find one...what do you think?

Hi!
My name is Michael, 32 years old, I´m living in germany. I play DDR since november 2003 on my PS2 and sometimes at arcade - only sometimes becaus there are only three machines in germany and I have to drive 200Km to play on a DDR arcade...
I can clear the most 9feet songs, the hardest song I ever passed is Max300 heavy.

Hi. I'm Eric. I live in Honesdale PA, and I've been playing for about 9 months now. I recently passed LoM on Heavy with a B, which means I've now passed every Heavy/Challenge song available to me (and gotten an A or better on every other one - still practicing on LoM). I got my first AAA on B4U B4 ZA (I think that's the name) Challenge mode last night, and have a picture to prove it, whenever I grab my camera's memory card. Just this morning I got AAA on You're Not Here Light (unintentionally ), and I'd take a picture of that, but I took my camera apart shortly after getting the picture of B4U. It's currently in a set of ziploc bags. [/ramble]
PS: Feel free to contact me through AIM/MSN, or E-mail if I remembered to add it to my profile And if you live in or around Honesdale* and would like to play a few rounds sometime, please let me know, I'd love to broaden my circle of freaks.. I mean friends.
*I'll count Adventure Games in Dickson City as 'around', for the sake of this post |

Hey! I'm oakenfolded23 and i adore DDR and play it all the time! I currently have DDR ultramix 1 and 2 (which just came out). I hosted my own DDR tournament last month and came in second place! Woot! Anywho.... my favorite song is Drop Out. If, and i'm asking EVERYONE, you could please host a tournament or run one in Waterford at Gamestation.... I WOULD FRIKKEN' ADORE YOU! I'm dying to play some more DDR with people. I play all of my songs on heavy and at least 1.5 to 2 speed. I can kinda/not really do Max 300 on heavy and max unlimited....anywho... respond if you can!!! |

Hey everyone,
My name is Tim, 20, in Oklahoma. I've been playing DDR for 3-4 months and play mostly standard and a few heavy songs. I was playing on the PS2 until we finally got an arcade with a 7th mix station.
Starting out I had dreams of becoming some l33t player. I now realize that's unrealistic, so now I just want to get really good and pass most of the heavy songs. However, most people in our city can only do light, so people are usually impressed with mine and my friend's DDR abilities. |
