I have not had a boy friend who hasnt liked me playing DDR, but one of my frineds (not a DDR player) was telling me that once she went out with a DDRer and that she hated it because they wouldnt go anywhere that didnt have DDR. So this got me thinking....

Have you ever had a boy/girl friend who has given hell for playing DDR? Or have you ever had a b/g friend who loves DDR as much as you do?

My ex hated DDR with a firey passion and refused to go to the arcade and play. Ever. So that sucked. disgust.gif

My fiancee likes DDR and the music a lot, but doesn't really play too much. The main reasoning is our difference in skill levels. He's on Beginner/some Light and I'm on Heavy/Oni.

He says he sucks in comparison to me and doesn't want to play in public because my skills heavily outweigh his, so he gets embarrassed. He doesn't mind going to the arcade and watching me play a few rounds though. And if we're waiting for a movie to start at the Cinema, he usually gives me quarters to let me play on the 7th Mix there.

I keep trying to tell him though that everyone started on Beginner (or Basic/Light, if you didn't start playing on a DDR USA or an Extreme) and that it's okay for him to be there and he doesn't suck. He just doesn't seem to want to believe me though.

But yeah, he enjoys DDR a lot, but really only plays at home or on StepMania.

Lucky you Zaji! My girlfriend hates it with a passion. It's gotten to where I don't play it when she's over cause I'm tired of hearing her whine about it. She doesn't like the songs, yet she like's Britney's dance Beat. goog.gif
What am I gonna do!

I started DDRing because of my boyfriend. He played all the time and I decided I didn't want to suck compared to him when he asked me to try it so I started going to the arcade and practising.

I had a girlfriend that hated the idea that I would go out to the arcade to play when I have it at home for relatively free. That was usually said after I spent close to $10 there. heh, I'm poor...*sniffles*

When I first met DDR we were both very shy. But I worked up the courage to make the first move. I grabbed my Aladdin's Castle tokens and inserted them into DDR. It was the best night of my life. A week later I got a call from DDR and found out it was pregnant. So I tried doing the right thing. We stayed together and eventually got married but things just weren't working out. We fought a lot, and the kid just took up way too much time. All of this after a one night stand. We finally got divorced and now I need to pay child support ($1 for 3 songs). The moral of the story is that DDR relationships seem like a good idea but they usually turn out for the worse.

This post is humorous. I like it.

My ex hated DDR with a fiery passion, but he was nice and let me play whenever we went to the mall. He was a huge stoner, not a fast reader, and just plain-old dumb. He was straight-out terrible at it.

But my current boyfriend... I met him through DDR. xD and just about everytime we see other, we're playing DDR. So no issues there.

I lost 40. I win.

Anyway, I'm actually getting my girlfriend into DDR. Neither of us have money often though, and I prefer the arcade greatly after home pads. That'll change in a year or so after I can afford a pair of Cobalt Fluxs and a modded PS2.
