I first played DDR at one of my best friend Sarah's house. She was the person who told me about it also. The first arcade that I've played DDR at was one in the Wisconsin Dells downtown area.

Hell yeah! All the way!!
I live like across the street from CZ and I remember I
used to pass by it all the time. I always wanted to go there
but I was intimidated by all the koreans. Then one day I
was like "Oh screw it I'll just go!!" So I went and that was when
I first started out on DDR. They used to have a 4th mix I think......
And ever since then, I got realy good and now I go all the time!! happy.gif

I played DDR for the first time Otakon 2000, but it was only half a song cuz we got kicked out for the tourney. Then I bought a pad but had no games for it (Cept for burned 2nd and 3rd mixes i couldnt play). Played a full song of Dynamite Rave at Otakon 2001 (and was wowwed by this other guys 1337 freestyle). I finally bought DDRUSA and an external modchip for my PSX and have been playing ever since,

I was in Houston Texas ( About a days drive away from here.) It was about three years ago. I see this cool looking thing that has music and flashly lights. I walk up and put a dollar in. Hit the green button until I get to song selection. I then pic a random song. I had no idea what to do. I stand on the middle and go aroudn and aroudn in circles hitting every arrow.

My second time I was ready, I knbew what to do. I went to the arcade that is around here. I wasp alying light, this little girl who is like 6 and doing heavy laughs at me. So I built my own metal apd and practiced liek crazxy for four months, now I can do about 10-12 different 9 step songs.

Mid October 2001, i played the 3rd mix at our local arcade. They upgraded that machine to a Max2 in late October 2002, and upgraded it to an Extreme March 2004 (yes it took us that long to get Extreme).

Late June of 2003, at Six Flags Great Adventure, in Jackson, NJ. I did a set of SoB Beginner, bag Beginner, and SoB Beginner again. I distinctly remember getting airborne in between bag's steps, and being totally wowed by a kid playing Standard. I got the game in late August, '03, and the rest is history.

early last october in a friends basement. i remember spending all night trying to beat candy light(he has max 1). my friend was decent at standard, but we were all in awe of his brothers good standard skills.

just a side note, but i remember sitting there in his basement with my friend, his brother and another friend of mine. we were all positioned around the pad, each of us to an arrow, trying to pass max 300 light with our hands. it makes me laugh remembering how terrible we all were(i think we were able to muster a c).

I first saw the game at Anime Central 2000, but didn't start playing it until a month and a half later.

The Place: Anime Expo 2000 in Anaheim, CA
The Room: The hotel room I was sharing
The Mix: DDR 2 PS1
The Pads: crappy 3rd-party pads with animals on them...

I failed "Let Them Move" Light.... riiight.gif

My first time was SHEER BRILLIANCE!

I inserted my 4 quarters in a Max2 machine on Martha's Vineyard, and didn't know you had to press the middle button. I just stood there like an idiot not knowing what to do, because of course I can not read Japanese.

That was a few years ago. riiight.gif
