If there was no DDR, then I'd probably have only lost 30 pounds instead of 40 when I was in Japan, and I'd also have wicked claws of power from 6 years of only playing Beatmania . _________________

If DDR never existed... we'd all be playing Pump it Up?
Seriously though, if DDR never existed, I'd guess I'd be playing more fighting games, which is what I went to arcades for before. And I still play them now. It's about half and half the time I spend on DDR vs. fighting games. |

As others said, I'd be playing PIU.
If any concept of a dancing game was never created, though, I'd be playing Warcraft III and World of Warcraft. I stopped WC3 when I started DDR and couldn't care less about WoW now...I'd be going outside a lot more (I catch snakes...I love 'em, and I'd do it a lot more if there were no DDR). I'd play more Halo 2 as well. I'd also be doing a lot better in school. |

Well, without the hugeboon to the US arcade market, Namco would've stopped seeing US arcades as a viable money-maker, and thus pulled out of the business. Konami's other games would actually be good again (look at how bad MGS3 sucks), as they'd focus more effort onto them. Dozens of less-known techno artists would've never been recognized.
Now, these things may seem to be not entirely related, but when combined, they form the most ingenious scheme to take over the world. Thus, Konami made DDR and the other Bemani games in an attempt to curb megolomania. You better thank your lucky stars for Bemani. _________________

While I find the rest of your post pretty funny, I have to admit I had thought about posting something about this myself. Arcades were really struggling throughout the late '90s, thanks to the fact that arcades were quickly losing their ability to provide an experience gamers couldn't get at home. Namco's already been giving home gamers arcade ports that were as good, almost as good, or as of recently even better than the arcade versions (Soul Blade, Soul Calibur, Tekken 3, Tekken Tag Tournament, etc.) Even with the arrival of DDR, though, I think arcades are still kind of shadows of their former selves. |

Well quite simply the world would turn upside down the rain would fall to the sky, the sun will be in the ground, the grass would eat cows, humans would be at the bottem of the food chain and I woudn't of embarrased myself by playing ddr with a hakama on. (i screwed up so badly)
Also remember some guy tried to play ddr while playing bag on the bagpipes and playing bag, he didn't succede but it was funny to watch. _________________
