The past week I have been using the Super Dual Box USB to PSX / PS2 converter and it worked great when I put in the code. Since I restarted my comp the code doesnt seem to work anymore. Any suggestions why this may be happening? |

1. Unplug adapter.
2. Restart Computer.
3. Log In to computer.
4. Wait for all activity to stop.
5. Plug In adapter.
6. Code.
7. Play Stepmania. _________________

I'd just like to also confirm that Super Dual Box USB 2PSX port works with Stepmania w/o any additional software. You do have to activate dance Mode (hold start+select+up 3-5 seconds) in order for it work properly. To make sure the code was put in, goto Control Panel/Game Controllers and see whether directional buttons are mapped to a button rather than just an axis. Refer back here if the buttons fail to respond or get screwy. In Stepmania, make sure that Ignore Axis is on, or the wrong button will be mapped for the configuration.
I got mines off of ebay for $10 eg. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3083428696&category=3677 and after reading all these posts, I was able to get it work properly (freeze, up/down, left/right all work w/o delays or problems). Just from the looks of it, play-asia and lik-sang sells a similar if not the same one(since both have comments about activating the code).
I highly recommend this adapter just because it works for me but also I didn't have to really hassle with additional programs suggested for other adapters and cheap if you search around (eg. ebay) I guess I was lucky that i bought one that worked, but do make sure you do get the right one.
If you haven't already checked out, the guys at stepmania have reviewed different adapters for it: http://www.stepmania.com/stepmania/adapter.php
Here are my specs:
1.8ghz celeron
Windows XP Home
Stepmania 9 final
Clone of BNS Ignition Pad
3rd party softpad |

I used those same plans to splice together the two parallel port adapters that came with my BNS pads. This configuration works with NTPad XP if you configure it for two controllers, both on the same port, using IDs 1 and 2. |

I have the same adapter and it seems that I have delay problems. I got it from the same type of ebay auction that you did.
Maybe it is only occuring on my laptop as that is how i bring the ddr to events.
Has anyone else noticed delay issues with the Super Dual Joy referenced two posts above? _________________

this is the type of adapter i bought off of ebay. Up until today I had been experiencing about .5 second delays (much as one of the latest, disgruntled EMS owners had said).
Today I ravaged this thread for any sort of information at all, but could find barely anything. Then, while in the middle of configuring my super dual box drivers i realized there were a lot of settings for the 'rumble' turned on, I didn't need the rumble for my pads; so I figured "turn the suckers off". I did, and the next time i ran stepmania the timing was pretty much exact, maybe off by '.0001 milliseconds' like that one junta guy said about the ems.
It's perfect in a real sense, so you guys should all try disabling your rumble features if you're having delay problems.
Also if this makes you want to buy one of these dealibops, remember the start+select+up for 3 seconds code. It's invaluable.

i apologize in advance. I hate to bring back a dead post, but I dont have time to read 28 pages of posts, So i dont know if this has been answered. Ok so today i bought the Kiky [X.Series] that is compatible to the Ps2 pads and whatnot. SO it seems to work ok sofar with my comp (win2k)and DWI, except that it isnt 100% responsive. Regardless of this i attempted using my Konami pad on DWI. The pad did not work via the arrows, but worked fine when i used the X, and O buttons. So i tried my ps2 controller and the D-pad didnt register either. Im gonna go ahead and assume im screwed, that is unless there is a way to modify DWI so it will read the D-pad and arrows.... can anyone help? _________________

I can confirm that it hates me
I've never been able to get it to work properly. I hear about the start+select+up thing, but it doesn't help. I have 2 redoctane ignition pads, so perhaps my issues are with the LED lights. The pads don't seem to register repeated arrows (D,,D,D, or L+R, L, R) and the freezes work randomly. When they do register, they flicker on and off.
My question is, had anyone tested the EMS USB2 converter with 2 ignition pads? Perhaps this has been answered, but blah, 28 pages is a lot to look through.
Thanks! |

Im not sure if the Playstation to USB from Radioshack is currently compadible (Hense why I asked about it in the Adaptors Question Thread)
I was not sure if anyone has seen it but here is the link to it
Radioshack's Playstation to USB converter
I only found one that is only for single player. This adaptor runs around $10.49 _________________

Negative! I own one!
Compatibility? Suuure! works fine. Playability? Noooo!
As many people have mentioned, there seems to be a problem with latency on this adapter, and quite a few others.
