u dance while your taking a shower and slip and break your leg. then u have to go back to beginner mode cuz your out of whack from healing

This one is kind of limited, but in line with the other guy who got hurt and had to start over:

When you have knee surgery and before you are even off your crutches, you play on basic using the patented Tripod Style.

When a guy working at the arcade busts out laughing because you are freestyling and a crowd of 14 years olds are all sitting crosslegged watching and cheering.

When everywhere you go you have a backpack with knee braces, a towel, and enough quarters/tokens to play double for over two hours.... just in case.

When you stay home from school sick with the worst goddamn sinus infection you've ever had in your life, *somehow* muster your weaked self up out of bed, stumble your way to your basement, and try to play as much DDR as you can before either vomiting, passing out, or making your head ache even worse by staring and concentrating so hard.

Yeah, sad, isn't it? I just did that today.

Though I kinda wish I didn't...I still couldn't hold back my urge.
I know. DDR has me by the horns. And you know what? I love it

It's had me by the horns for 2 years now, and it hasn't changed one bit.

So, yeah.

-You constantly have gameworks cards on you and every mall you see search for an arcade with a machine
-You have waterbottles and towels in your car for those spontaneous DDR moments
-All you can ever think about is DDR even when you're not thinking about it
