Konami Pad = teh Broken :(

I've had much love out of my first set of Konami dance pads, but sadly, one of them is now rabbid, and i know not whether to try and save him or put him down.

I tore appart the chip casing and everything appears to still be intact. When I step on the arrows or buttons, their correct LEDs light up, indicating that it's recognizing the button press and that it's still getting power (from the PS2, of course).

Anyone else have this problem or know a possible solution?
