It's a bad idea because you can't verify if people have played that song for the first time ever. The closest thing that I've had in a tournament is edits (not too crazy, not too hard).
Great idea, just like communism. It's just a bummer neither work in the real world. _________________

Also some people are saying they can sightread well; but you also have to take into account how many of these people are playing on keyboard/controller. For example, I can't sightread anything on a pad to save my life, but the other day I AAA'd Wonderland UKS mix first try on the controller :\ _________________

I didn't read anything in this thread, but I'm sure that everything that was said was as ludicrous in theory as it was deleterious in form. _________________

he's just a troll don't worry about it. Are you saying it would have to have new steps everytime you played it? If so that seems to be impossile. A computer can only spit out the info you tell it to. The closest thing you could get is like multiple heavy steps but it would still only be sightreading once. It be the same as me going to an arcade with an old mix and playing a song I've never seen after I played it the first time it couldnt be sightreading anymore.
If I am off just tell me I haven't been paying very close attention to what has been said. _________________

NOONE can possibly do a 10 footer on the first time they see it. this is a good skill to aquire... and practicing the same song over and over wont help like it does for 10 footers n stuff. tournaments for this can be made by someone on edit mode... idno if edit mode can be uploaded onto a ddr machine, but it prolly can. i think this would be cool to have this idea done... anyone else think this is a good idea??? bad idea??? post ur stuff!
this would revolutionize the revolution! | I've already thought of and tried to implement this... =/ It's a pretty good idea! The edit thing, that is, esp if the steps match the song wonderfully (like 10 or 11 status usually). _________________

A tournament near my area is having all the songs on shuffle, I believe that's the only reasonable way to do it, it's still going to screw everyone up. Edits might be a good idea, but would take an extremely long time to do, and as well once people saw others playing the edit, there is no longer a big shock value. |

mabye only have 3 songs on edit mode and whoever gets the highest score wins!!!! easiest way prolly... dont let people see u dancing and so they wont be exposed to the moves if u already havent played. if 2 ppl get like... AAA's then its a tie! ........AND shuffle wont screw u up toooooo badly... IF UR GOOD AT SIGHT READING
btw the real reason for this topic is that SOME poeple can AAA every song out there, but with new steps it is a totally new challenge???
tell me if this new idea for the new idea is a good new idea???
btw can u upload editmode stuff to a ddr machine from mah ps2?????? |

I highly doubt that it's even a "new" idea. _________________

Okay, one more time for your benefit.
Ooooh if it's supposed to be possessive, it's just I-T-S,
but if it's going to be a contraction, it's I-T-apostrophe-S!

There are only so many rythyms that can be used. The people who whore out songs to get better most likely would win anyway. _________________

Do you really have nothing better to do with your time?
