so for my school, to graduate, everyone must complete a "senior project" its a truck load of work to put on top of an already busy senior year. well i wanted a fun topic so i chose weightloss + ddr. i've been playing it everyday. good times. well anyway along with this stuff i gotta make an isearch paper. basically a paper answering a question you ask at the beggining of it. i said "what goes on in the dance dance revolution community, who belongs to it, and how do people get into it?" something of the sort. so i figured i'd come on here and make a thread asking how people first started the game. if this thread is successfull this will be my first of many threads for the project.

i guess i'll start it off?

a friend of mine in a computer class talked about it to me one day. said he plays it everyday for his xbox and its the most fun game he has. i talked him into loaning me a pad and his max2 disk. from there i've been hooked.

Well, I met this girl at a party and hit it off. We hung out the next day at her friend's house, and they had a couple cheap plastic pads and Konamix. From there I played at the arcade a lot and with my girlfriend's little brother when he bought a metal pad. Now I own my own metal pad with 2 DDR games and planning to buy Ultramix 2 when it comes out.

back in february, all my friends started playing it, but i didnt really start till may. I got into it, bought max2, some pads, and just started playing.

It's 6 months later and now i can pass most songs on heavy, with the exception of a few 9's and the 10's.

A few years back, I saw some guys playing and just said to myself "If I ever decide to play that game, shoot me." I kept that mindset for a while until the more I watched, the more I decided it might be fun so I got Max2 and a mat for my birthday 5 months ago and have been playing ever since.

Well if you want to get technical, I played DDR for the first time a few years ago at an arcade around here cause I saw like 4 or 5 people around a machine so I checked it out to see what all the fuss was about. I didnt really get into it though. A few months ago my friend came over and he had DDRMax2 and mat with him. We played it for awhile and I ended up buying it myself.

Played in DisneyQuest Orlando, initially because I thought, 'Man that looks lame', and I do'n't like making comments without trying something first, so I thought, 'Why not give it a go to confirm my thoughts?' Now I'm addicted.

Saw a number of 3rd Mixes and people playing. I was thinking "I could never do that." I meant physically not that I didn't want to.

Found a 4th Mix near my house where I could practice without worries of looking like a goof.

3 years later I can do PSMO Double.
