I was just at an arcade, and I saw the game, told myself that I would never play it. Then my friend gave me $3 and told me to play, and if I didn't like it I could keep the other $2.50. I went home broke that day.

I was inspired by a combination of Cedar Point and my friend Jeff... and strangely enough my SCHOOL had something to do with it. We were on an 8th grade field trip to Cedar Point (Back in June 2004). I was hangin out with Jeff and some other friends, and we got tired of goin on rides. We were like "Let's check out the arcade." We went in and the first machines we saw were two DDR machines right next to each other... Great idea huh? (This is the Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio for those that have been there and know what Im talking about). We changed a couple bucks, and stood in the line of about 6 people. We got on and I found out Jeff had the damn game... which made him better than me. He was doing light, I was on Beginner of course. I was so amazed at how good he was. Ended up blowing like 5bucks and 2 or 3 hours on the machine. Came home enticed with the game. Didn't have any money to buy it though frown.gif. I went over to Jeff's about 4 times over the summer and got to Light during that time. I got Extreme about 2 weeks ago and now Im a heavy player E1.gif. So yep... My school was the basic reason for me getting into ddr... not the kids at the school, but the guy that planned the field trip. Guy that planned it, if you are reading this, THANKS! E1.gif

I sat out an entire summer in 2003 when i didnt play DDR. Then one day in February 2004 I went to the Solomon Pond arcade with my friends. A little of that inspired me plus all my friends from hampton played it and were good at it and I wanted to become as good as them, and because it was fun of course.

I have had inspiration to continue playing, but there was no intentional inspiration aside from the fact that the machine I first played on was free-play. But now I'm hoplessly addicted...

i honestly dont remember... i had known of it for a while, but i think it was when i saw those pads for sale at eb games for $18 is when i actually pictured myself playing it. i remember having the strong urge to learn to ddr, so i just went out, bought a pad and a game.

Well I saw this game when I went to vegas about two years ago. I did pretty well especially since I'd hurt my leg earlier that day. That christmas I got it for playstation and I've been playing eversince. I think what's kept me playing is the fact that most girls aren't really on the heavy or challenge levels so it's kind of cool when I beat guys sometimes and they get all shocked and their friends make fun of them E1.gif I just recently started playing doubles since well no-one plays that I thought I really want to be good at that, then I'd be a super rare breed, black girl who plays doubles on heavy and hopefully isn't too smelly afterwards E1.gif Also I think I'm overly addicted to this game now, it's like the only thing I do for exercise anyway, plus it's helped my legs not be so stiff and I have a lot more energy than I used to when I wasn't playing.
