I love my IIDX ASC, but it's so ridiculously loud it drives me crazy. Has anybody with an IIDX ASC modded it to be quieter, and how did they go about doing it?

My idea was to get some non-conductive insulating foam and place it in the button case and in the other hollowed out plastic areas to muffle the sound. But, if anybody has better ideas, I'd love to hear them.

theres a thread over a cobalt flux forums about a mod for an IIDX controller. im not one to play IIDX, but i figured that this would help a bit. one guy even said that his kes were so sensitive afterward, that he only that to touch them to get them to actuvate. not sure if thats a good thing or not, but to each his own i guess.

Wrong controller, ned. He's talking about the Arcade Style Controller.

rampage: I don't think you can modify an ASC to make it more silent. The one that causes the click noises are the microswitches inside the keys.

The microswitches aren't what's noisy. Because the button box is hollow plastic, hitting on the buttons causes a loud 'thunking' noise above the pleasant click of the microswitches.

You obviously haven't heard an ASC in action. I direct your attention to:
