|
|
Hi
I am ready to get into the fun world of Taiko No Tatsujin - but can´t decide which game to buy - mainly because I can´t find any songlists.
I have just received the new small Asian PS2 - so the American version is out of question.
Normally I would just go for the latest version - but from what I have heard Taiko 4 is one of the weakest in the series - and 5 isn´t out till december.
Does anyone in here have more Taiko games - and can you tell me what you recommend ?
Thanks from Soren, Denmark |

Honestly i have no clue which versions i have cuz i cant read japanese. Im pretty sure i have the most recent one, mainly because the interface is the same as the US version. I cant seem to find myself a songlist either, however whichever one you buy you will enjoy it. The game is fun no matter what song you play Huge competition with donkey konga, however they are both Namco games ._. _________________

Yeah, so am I
Well... I have narrowed it down to either 3rd or 4th generation.
Both games have loyal followers - but then again 5th generation is just a month away. Hmmm... this isn´t an easy choice...

I am planning to buy this too! I'm thinking of the third one.. but to those who don't like the fourth one, what kind of japanese music do you like? I like anime/jpop music, so do you think i'll like the fourth one more?
Also, if I buy the drums where I live, instead of buying import drums, it'll be the same thing right? Like the non-import drums will still be compatible with the import games right?
Just making sure! Thanks in advance! |

Well, after reading more sites, I actually ordered the 4th one yesterday.
The layout in the forth game is the same as in the US Drummaster game - and I was told by another user that the songs and minigames in the 4th generation are by far the greatets in the series.
The drum has no region codes, so you can buy the drum anywhere. I myself had a friend buy me the RedOctane drum.

Oh really? After reading more sites, I think I've decided to buy the 3rd generation! Seems like more people enjoy this one, like the ratings are better? I think I read in this forum that someone said the 4th one is the worst one ..?? I don't know, but I guess everyone's got their own opinions Do post once you get your 4th one and let us know how it is! |

Well, from what I have heard - the biggest difference in 3rd and 4th generation is better and much sharper graphics in 4th - and also the 4th game will let you select music before you select the difficulty. This should make a huge difference.
When the game arrives, I will let you know what I think.

Nevermind on my last post! I think I'll be buying the fourth generation one instead I originaly wanted to get the third one online, and the drums in stores, but I checked and they don't sell the drums seperate from the Taiko Drum master (US) game! Seems pretty stupid to me; so how are people going to play it in two player mode, unless they buy two Taiko Drum master games??
So I think I'll be buying the fourth generation + drums bundle online, since the bundle with the third generation is out of stock at yesasia. So hopefully I've made a good choice =] |

I hope so too
If you want an extra drum - you could go for the RedOctane one...
IGN gave it a great review - and I am looking forward to receiving mine.
Well, lets hope we are doing the right thing buying 4th generation |

^ I kinda wanted to get the anime matsuri one if it wasn't for the shorter than usual song list
Well if you can read Japanese, here's the song list:

My Taiko 4th generation arrived today - and it is SO much fun !!!
The songs are great - the mini games are a blast
Since I don't have my drum yet - I have only tried it with the Dual Shock controller - but it is still wonderful...
I just wish I knew Japanese... - this game is SO full of it |

i wonder if anyone in this forum is planning to get the fifth generation? it's coming out soon =D wonder how that's gonna be like! |

Well, I think I will get 5th generation as well...
My favorite songs are the classical ones... and just wait till you try the "restaurant" mini game... - kind of like "Simon Says" with rythm...

no, it's awful
get 2nd or 3rd. 4th had a poor songlist, and five isn't shaping up too well. 2nd is my favorite _________________
