Lack...of....motivation?

Sure, there's lots of great songs I wanna make, but the problem is they keep drifting off beat by really slight margins, that end up making 8th runs runs of spaced out 16ths.....and I don't have any good songs....anyhelp? I need motivation here....and no old stepfiles (ie. DDR songs, unless its a new mix).

If your arrows are drifting off sync, it may be from the folliwing:

Your offset (gap value) is wrong (most likely the case)
The BPM of the song shifts, and you didnt change it (possibility)
You have the steps configured with an off BPM (slight chance)

As for songs, I pick the songs I stepfile by listening to songs that have a great beat. Songs that when i'm listening to, i can't help but to tap my fingers on the desk to the music

Listen to a song of your choice. Try to tap your desk to the beat and music of the song. If you find that the taps make sense, then try stepfiling that song!

...how do I set the gap? Is that the seconds to Zero or w/e? cuz What would happen is it starts out perfectly, and in the same stretch, by the end, it will have drifted off.....like gradually

Move to the top of the stepchart. Look where it says Current Seconds (see picture),it should be set default at 0.00 (its set to -0.02 in the pic because I changed it)

Use F11 and F12 to change the offset so the arrows move up earlier or later.

Experiment with it untill you have it set so it doesn't drift offsync.

but wouldn't that change when the arrows are in time with the music at the beginning?

You need to adjust it so that all of the 1/4 notes are perfectly on beat.

If the gap doesnt change it from drifting offsync, then its a BPM issue.

IM me, i'll test it out. I'll try messing with the gap and stuff

Trans-Siberian Orchestra for Christmas stuff. Planning on releasing an X-mas pack.

Then I got some techno that's quite interesting, along with Beethoven's Last Night, again by TSO. So half techno/half rock. I deduce that the TSO stuff is gonna be fairly onbeat, since they actually have a conducter.

dude, i would deduce the opposite. if its actually done live with no assisstance from some sort of metronome, the conductor will make things worse. they always exaggerate tempo changes to be more "dramatic".
