Sure, there's lots of great songs I wanna make, but the problem is they keep drifting off beat by really slight margins, that end up making 8th runs runs of spaced out 16ths.....and I don't have any good songs....anyhelp? I need motivation here....and no old stepfiles (ie. DDR songs, unless its a new mix). _________________

...how do I set the gap? Is that the seconds to Zero or w/e? cuz What would happen is it starts out perfectly, and in the same stretch, by the end, it will have drifted off.....like gradually _________________

but wouldn't that change when the arrows are in time with the music at the beginning? _________________

You need to adjust it so that all of the 1/4 notes are perfectly on beat.
If the gap doesnt change it from drifting offsync, then its a BPM issue.
IM me, i'll test it out. I'll try messing with the gap and stuff _________________

Experiment with it untill you have it set so it doesn't drift offsync.

its easy man. and if it is onsync at one point and off at another, you have a bad bpm. if it is really really gradual, try messing with your inital bpm. if at a point it gets suddenly offbeat, try changing the bpm at that point.
what i like to do with songs that change bpm is just put a buncha left quarter note arrows down for like 100 measures, then put on assisst tick and listen. if it goes offbeat, i mess around with the bpms. if it doesnt, great, i start the steps.
and "no old stepfiles"? whats wrong with making edits of DDR songs? theyre a good place to start since you already know the bm and stuff. and are you using real music? or techno-ish stuff? _________________

:-D Secret Plans are as follows:
Trans-Siberian Orchestra for Christmas stuff. Planning on releasing an X-mas pack.
Then I got some techno that's quite interesting, along with Beethoven's Last Night, again by TSO. So half techno/half rock. I deduce that the TSO stuff is gonna be fairly onbeat, since they actually have a conducter. _________________

dude, i would deduce the opposite. if its actually done live with no assisstance from some sort of metronome, the conductor will make things worse. they always exaggerate tempo changes to be more "dramatic". _________________

this is very true. in my conducting lessons I've always been taught to keep a steady beat while at the same time not appearing too mechanical. human error is what makes the music sound real. the only way that orchestra is going to be playing in time is if they have a metronome. |
