Okay so heres mything. So far i have had no problem with SM scripting videos, all i do is follow the script and copy and paste which videos are needed into the song folder and it works no problem. Now recently on the bemanistyle forums i racked up enough points to download an IIDX video for Sana Mollete Ne Ente BLT STYLE. So i put in the video and it shows!! Hurray! 1 slight problem is the sync of the video is WAY off with the steps (although i know the ddr version is shortened) Anyhow is there a way i can make the video start immediately as the song starts? Also i downloaded a few other IIDX videos that i wanted to put in like Last Message. Well i created a similar script for Last Message, however it doesnt show. I cant figure out what im doing wrong here, but it isnt working only SMNEBLT style works for some reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I sync all my videos with all my simfiles using the stepmania editor. What I do is I try to find where the music and video will start at the same time by playing the simfile in the editor over and over. I look under "current second" on the right side under INFO and try to figure out a perfect time to add the background movie. I switch beats by moving the arrow keys left and right to get closer to an accurate time (Using 64th beats will probably get you closer to the time the video and music will sync together E1.gif ). Once I think I found a good spot to add the video, I highlight that spot with the marker. I then press ESC and go down to ADD/EDIT BG CHANGE in the menu. In the BACKGROUND CHANGE menu, I check to the right of "Add Change to Song Movie" to see if AVI file is there just incase or I can't of course add a background movie! If its there, I highlight "Add Change to Song Movie" and I make sure the marker is at the time I found the video and music would perfectly sync together and then add the background movie. I then play the simfile over again and see if time I found to put the video perfectly syncs with the music. If it's not synced, I repeat this over again but placing the marker at a different time on the "current second". When I finally find a place where the music and video sync perfectly, I exit Stepmania and I just open the SM File in notepad (You don't have to do this). I then change the time the video starts to an even more accurate time if needed. After that, I just test my simfile over and over in the normal game mode to see how it looks.

OR you could just change the offbeat of the song and find a spot where the music and video will sync together. biggrin.gif

I've never really done the offbeat thing but you could try hehe. Every single one of my simfiles except for one contains a video. I did the first method for all those simfiles and doesn't take too long. You can look for my simfiles at Bemanistyle and see if you think my videos are accurate from for my simfiles before trying my methods of video syncing. The only simfile I created without a video was Dragonball Z - Hikari no Will Power. My username is SSJ2Trunks. laugh.gif

I hope this answers your problem. Feel Free to Ask Any Questions if you have any. E7.gif

Do you know if your videos are compatable with Stepmania? The type of video format I use for my simfiles are all AVI but I've tried MPEG and it has worked before.

I don't understand how that works. Stepmania automatically creates a delay before the music video begins in order to make the title screen appear first. So if I have the music video for Tell Me Tell Me, how do I get it so the music and the video are perfectly in sync? No matter where I add the music video, it will always be out of sync due to the delay caused by the title screen.

My solution that I have used for awhile is to trim a number of seconds off of the music video with a video editing program. I then do exactly what you do, which is finding the best place to add the music video now that the delay is accounted for. I am open to suggestions for alternative methods.

BTW: A lot of videos are presented in WMV instead of an open source file format like AVI or MPEG. Check out this website to learn how to convert files back into AVI or MPEG
