I was wondering if any of these sims allow for some sort of practice mode. I use StepMania and DWI, but can't find such a feature. I know I've seen slowed versions of songs that I guess were meant to fill this purpose, but I seem to have lost them.

Anyone know how to work this or find slowed versions of songs (particularly PSMO)?

I have an imported version of DDR Extreme I used to practice this on, but my PS2 has long sonce broken. frown.gif

That's a simple rate change E7.gif

Choose the song you want to practice, say, PSMO. press enter twice to get into options. The first screen is all the arrow options (example: speed mods, turn mods, note mods, etc) press enter again to get to the second screen. This is the screen that changes the gameplay of the song. You can change songs to battery (same as oni mode) assist tick, fail off, music rate.

Where it says Rate, change it from 1.0 (regular music) to about 0.5 or 0.7, whatever speed you desire. The song can play much slower with rate changes, so thats your practice mode right there E7.gif

If you really want the full experience of a practice mode, lower the music rate and turn autofail off biggrin.gif

Thanks a million! Now I can finally get back on those 10 footers I've been neglecting.

Is there a way to do this in DWI though? Stepmania is kinda skippy on my computer (even when I turn down the resolution and texture quality).

No idea about DWI, I havent used that program in over a year, hehe.

In stepmania, go to options, graphic options, then scroll down to "wait for V-SYNC." Turn it off. That should make it run a little smoother.

Also, make sure you dont have any other big programs running when stepmania is open. That will cause crazy lag in the game.
