I have REALLY big feet does anyone else have this problem? Although i've only played at the arcade ONCE (about 21 dollars worth in one sitting so 75 cents..= 3 stages per No extra stages for me this time about 63 songs) I realized very quickly I needed to get used to this (having play on a hard foam pad at homewithout shoes was hard to adapt to a hard metal pad with freakin deep arrows) I will probably get better at it later but for now I could only play 4-7 footers when I usually play 9's at home.

So home for now .. then when I bulid my 2 metal pads i'll get used to those then have more fun at the arcade.

arcade is the best, but using the bar in the arcade is just something i am not accustomed to. i can pass every 9 step without the bar, but when i try to use it when not dancing a ten step, i can only do 7 steps or worse. I will say it again, ARCADE IS THE BEST! The atmosphere just makes it all worth it.

johan- lol i have the same problem with big feet somethimes its annoying as hell.
as for home or arcade, so far i have really only played in arcade, i first saw the game at my friend home pad played in my socks, and then at arcade found it alot more energy draining on arcade version. ARcade is probably better then home version just becuase you get to hang out with crowds of people sometiems which make it fun, and atmosphere which was already mentioned. If you are going to get the HOme version id reccomend getting a metal pad via RO or CF, or even building one so you can play in your shoes that way you get minimal difference when you go to arcade, even though you will get a small diff. thats why cant wait till my cf arrives est del 10/02/04 w00t w00t! biggrin.gif laugh.gif

I perform at least one foot better at home than i do at the arcade. I cannot stand soft pads whether their with foam inserts or not i just cant stand them. I just lose my place on them. Atmosphere also definitely makes a difference. If i have a crowd i tend to have a 50/50 chance of screwing up or makin it. Whereas if im by myself a usually perform better. Then again i passed a 10 footer for the first time in front of a bunch of gals so... i guess it depends?

Just get a steel pad, and raise the difficulty on your home version, and voila, you have your very own "home arcade."

I like playing in the arcade because the pad doesn't slip and you'll know where you need to step. Plus I like it when people watch me. E4.gif

I have two Naki Xbox soft pads and they have worked beutifully since I started playing about a year ago. I also got some redoctane pad covers for my girlfriend and me and those helped keep it flat. I also have a tile floor so having a soft pad isnt too bad. I do prefer arcade but I have the same problem as some other person here and the back of my feet keep hitting the damn bar, and I have actually stepped off the pad the first time I did bag on heavy. I guess I just have to get used to it, I dont play at the arcade much because I dont have a licence or money.

Arcade.

The one in Springfield, MA was awesome. The arcade there had the DDR machine right enxt to the doors and the music PUMPED UP! The screen was bright and the pads were close tot he machine so I could just lean over and tap the buttons to enter and left right to find my songs.

However, the one in Savannah, GA is horrible. Low music, the screen's freaked up, and the pads are scooted EXTREMELY fara way from the machine. There's an odd machien on the other side of it that's louder. But, it IS DDR and a steel pad and my plastic pad is driving me nuts. It says no shoes or stockings. Use bare feet. I use bare feet and I STICK to the pad. SO socks it is and I've been getting AA*, A, and B ever since on songs. I also have a heck of a time hitting the back arrow. On the arcade pad, i can hit the back arrow perfectly.

I hate the friggin bars on the arcade machine, I somehow manage to back into them and my feet hit them. I do sometimes find it hard to hit the steps on the arcade pad since they're recessed into the "stage".

I like being in the arcade though, fun playing with random people.

I started of playing on a home pad, but now i only play in the arcade. A couple reasons being is that the soft pads don't register u'r steps very well and it seems impossible to full combo a song on my pad. The crowd is also another reason why i like playing at the arcade.... The only way i would play on my home pad was if i needed the extra practice or if I had no money to go to the arcade E2.gif . Although i think that i'm am done playing on my home pad from now on because it is very PAINFUL frown.gif . Is it just me or is it whenever you play on your home pad u'r feet hurt like hell? E19.gif Just the other day i pulled out Max2 and my pad and started to play, needless to say after playing So Deep and BreVk Down there was a sharp pain in the top of my feet(i couldn't go to the arcade the next day because my feet were still hurting disgust.gif ). I'm guessing its because i was in my socks and stomping on the ground, why there was that pain. I never get that pain in my feet when i play at arcade though( i usually do 8 footers and higher).

choosing to play at home instead of at the arcade is like choosing to masturbate instead of having sex.

I like playing at home with friends because you feel more comfortable and I seem to concentrate better at home but the arcade is always a better choice for practicing and freestyle.
