Hiya,

I'm having an issue with some controller boxes I sort-of-constructed. We were having some issues with the CF control boxes and PS1 games, so I built a breakout port for the CF into an original issue PSX controller (actually, two). They work very well with the PS1 and Stepmania (through a Directpad Pro-type connection).

However, with the PS2 (US Extreme in particular), I'm having some trouble with the pad randomly triggering X and triangle (triangle and square are mapped to the Start and Select buttons on the CF). This, of course, exits the game and is most troublesome. It only does this when the CF is connected to the controller "box." (The box is the PSX pad, and there are no random triggers when the pad is only used). Furthermore, it would seem that both contoller boxes cause the same trouble with one pad, but not on another.

This leads me to believe that his pads (I don't own the CFs) may be faulty, but he doesn't have this trouble when the CF control boxes are used. I intend on making a special set that will only have the arrows mapped, thus solving the problem in their case.

But, I would still like to know if someone else has experienced similar phenomena. Could it possibly just be hardware differences between the PS1 and PS2? (I don't think it is, as the contollers work fine on either. But, you never know.) I would like to know in the case I someday purchase a CF or build my own pad. Thanks for any info folks, and for hearing me out on my overly-long post. laugh.gif

Even though it's a self-constructed box, it's a derivative of the CF box, so it would be best to put this in the Cobalt Flux thread.
