I've been told that Metal Pads only last about twice as long as a soft pad. I don't really want to buy a pad for like $200 if it won't last that long. Can someone help me out and tell me truth?!

Yep metal pads are definitely better. My lame-o soft pads lasted one month before they started malfunctioning. I got a metal pad the week after and it's been about 5 months and it's still working just the same.

i have also heard that CF makes the best metal pad, but they're extremely expensive ($300+) i am thinking about getting a red octane for $200 for my b-day. as far as soft pads go, my friend has gotten ones that last a week, but i got an ultramix bundle a year ago and my soft pad from that still works just fine to this day.
