Hi all! First time here on these forums. I need your help with the DDR pad. Now, I've looked at the sticky about the hardware and I've checked out all of the pads that were listed. Still need help.
I plan to get DDR for the Mrs. so she can do the two things she loves most: dance and listen to music. Also, I explained to her that DDR will give you a really good work out and she wants something to do during the long winter months.
I'd like to get this for the Xbox mainly because of Xbox LIVE, so when she gets better at playing it offline, she can go online and compete. Also, like I said earlier, she wants to active too, but my issue is what's the best pad for the money.
I like the Red Octane Ignition pad, but just to get started, it seems a little steep to me price wise. Knowing me, I'd probably get it anyway and later on get the arcade metal pads to boot! Another thing I'd like to know, does anyone know which 3rd party company Konomi liscenced the pad too? I called them and the guy said that he wasn't sure but he thought that it was to some one overseas. (I'm guessing China myself...)
Almost done ya'll, almost. If I can get some answeres to these last few questions, I'll be good to go:
-On Xbox LIVE, what kind of downloadable content do you get?
-When does the next DDR come out?
-Can you take the music that you burn on your Xbox and use it in the game?
-What kind of music is on DDR? Is it mostly house and techno?
-When you're playing DDR on LIVE, how do you guys do any trash talking? I mean, seriously. I want to get that new Logitech headset whenever I can, that way she can dance and talk the night away to her hearts content.
-I notice that different pads have different arrow configurations. What's that all about and how does this affect the new DDR that's coming out? Would it be best to get a pad with all the arrows just in case?
-As far as the soft pads go, including the ignition pad, it's best to play without shoes right?
-Can you replace the foam in the ignition pad? If so, where's the best place to get replacements?
Whew! Ok I think me done now. I did tell you this was my first post didn't I. I'm a noob for real! Thanks so much for the help in advance. |

Oy.
Welcome to DDR Freak.
You'll do a *lot* better here if you take a few steps in the right direction. You know...get off on the right foot.
First off, we have different forums for different topics of discussion. Don't post one huge thread with a bunch of wildly varied questions. Firstly, you should look around and read the information at your disposal before you post.
Ask your Ignition questions *in* the Ignition thread.
As for all of your Ultramix questions...you should head over the Console forums and read the threads over there. One of the biggest rules we follow here is that in a topic dealing with frequently discussed information, all the newest and known information is in the very first post in the thread. Release date information for Ultramix 2, for example, is in the first post.
If you have any questions about how to do things here, feel free to PM a moderator anytime to ask questions. But really, if you just watch how things work here, you're likely to learn a lot about how we do things here. Read the Site FAQ and any announcements in the forums you post in, and you should be set. _________________
