metal home pad vs. arcade

has anyone ever experienced difficulty with a home pad but not an arcade pad? I can FC 8-footers on an arcade machine, but at home on my Red Octane metal pad i'll get B's on the same songs. I feel real uncomfortable on the pad, too, compared to an arcade pad.

I can't put my finger on whats wrong. Am i too use to an arcade pad, and will i just have to get use to my home pad over time? Could it be because the feel of the arrows is different, or because the arrows on my home pad arn't sunk in like an arcade pad? Has anyone else had this problem?

Well comparing a home pad to the arcade is a FAQ... but yeah. You will get used to the arcade's pad. It's best to do 1 only at a time, but if your good enough you can play ddr on any pad...

I experienced this too with my switch from soft pad to metal pad.... it changed DDR for me completely... i sucked buttocks at first but got better as i went. For some reason when I played at the arcade after home I still do pretty decent.... I'm not sure for every person its different.

Im better on my home metal pad usually.. it isn't much harder for me going to the arcade but i know what you mean

I started in the arcade and didn't play at home until I was passing catas (it was 3rd mix).... I still can not get used to the softpads even if they are modded!! It just feels a lot different and I think the arcade pad is spaced differently.

I like Arcade better for some reason than my meatal pad....dont ask me why i just do but Home is less more relaxing for me.
