|
|
People are saying that DDR Extreme for the arcade was the last arcade version of Dance Dance Revolution to be released by Konami. But I have a couple cool ideas that can be implemented into sort of an All-Star version of DDR, better than Extreme, and gives what the fans of the series what they wanted. Note that the following for everything came out of my head and onto this post, none of it will ever be real... but its possible IMO. This all-star version would be called Dance Dance Revolution: DDR4EVER. The arcade version would be released in Asia, America, and Europe simultaneously. First off to start with the actual machine. It would support Quads mode, up to 4 people can play. I'm not exactly sure how the setup would be, but the screen would have to be bigger (like HD sized) to accomadate 4 rows of arrows. The machine would also be connected to the Internet, where scores and records will be recorded into a database that Konami can hold, and you could access this info by a name or number system. Next, new and old songs will be implemented, according to popularity of fans chosing those songs. (Either this, or incorperate every past song on any DDR machine into DDR4EVER, which is not likely). Then of course, add all new songs, more Konami originals, and other things... I will leave this up to you, members of DDR Freak forum, to improve upon. Here are just a few new Konami Originals that would be the core (or of high difficulty, like how PSMO and LOM are to DDR Extreme) of DDR4EVER. I think with this game being the last DDR arcade version to be released, they should implement the 11 foot difficulty, so like the name implies "4EVER" will take forever to AAA the song . Also institute a new series where "Survivor" took songs to another level but call it "Avenger" ... take a look:
bag survivor RevenG vs. NAOKI 1/3/5/10/--
Sakura Max RevenG vs. ZZ 3/6/9/10/--
PARANOiA 4EVER - ??? 3/5/7/9/11
MAX 4EVER - ??? 3/5/7/9/11
Dance Dance Revolution 4EVER - DDR ALL-STARS --/--/--/--/11
TRIP MACHINE Avenger DE-SIRE 2/5/8/10/--
PARANOiA Avenger 300 3/6/8/10/--
PARANOiA Avenger MAX 333 3/9/10/11/11
The legend of PARANOiA Z³ --/6/8/10/--
neoMAX - DM Ashura --/4/7/9/10
I just threw that last one in there for kicks, but the rest are perfectly susceptible to see. I would love to see the next version of DDR to have a plethora of new PARANOiA and MAX songs, like 5 or more of each, because these series convey the highest difficulty in steps to DDR. Again, I leave anything and everything up to you, to change upon. Post what you, the fans, would like to see in this sort of game, whether it be songs, steps, modes, courses, about the machine, or whatever. I want to see your creativity.

Good god, you can find 34976978903689347 mashups like those for Stepmania. If you really want to play garbage like that, seek out some simfiles.

Anyway, if you're really serious about this, you should just make simfiles. Much easier, you can make courses with them if you want. |
Amen.

This post wasn't intended for that, if you guys would have read closer. I wanted to see if anybody had any ideas such as new songs, new modes, new things, new whatever they wanted to see in a new DDR game. Of course, new songs and difficulties would be the cream of the crop for any new DDR game, and these can't be done through simfiles. The non-original stuff in simfiles like neoMAX, doesn't come anywhere near the official stuff that Bemani creates. |

Isn't this sort of like Xbox DDR brought to arcade? -PS2 needs that game- Except for for the songs and stuff
the arcade can be set up in a cross style 4 screens 1 screen per person but this would greatly increat he cost of the machine thus not many arcades will buy it and also increasthe amount need to play it if it is introduced.
Possible somthing like the flat screen that stretch out horizontally. _________________

Arcades usually struggle to fit a DDR machine into an arcade as it is. The idea above about having a four sided machine might work, but wasn't the main idea behind four pads to have quad mode? There would be a couple of sick freaks, namely those who play yard mode, who would be able to do it... and of course, Aaron would AAA everything in the first week. Also, much of the attraction to DDR is the social aspect, and it's lonely with only one pad...
As far as ideas go, search around the forums, particularly chit chat. Threads concerning new mods, game modes, songs, background characters, etc. have all come and gone time and time again.
And PS2 will not be getting Ultramix, methinks. And what did you mean by "Except for the songs and stuff"? What else is there, fundamentally to any DDR game? I guess you're looking at online mode, which is often more trouble than it's worth. You got challenge mode, and a muchly improved one at that, in Extreme, and your not missing much with battle mode at all.
Feel free to start begging for Ultramix2 any time, though. _________________

It's not bad, but the name "4EVER" is sort of overkill. Guys like Yasu would AAA those songs you named inside of 2 months. Sorry, but freaks like that do exist. _________________

Hmm...a couple of things.
First off, I don't like the ideas for songs (no offense), namely because they are just endless permutations of old DDR songs put together. Having some on the mix would be cool, but to have as many as you listed would just be repetitive and lame. Maybe one or two like that, but I'd like some original stuff plz.
Secondly, the four pads thing I'm not sure about. The only cool thing about having 4 pads is you could play "quad", but other than that, if you wanted to play like versus doubles or something, you could just play them separately, or have 2 different arcade machines. The idea of having 4 pads is kind of unrealistic, it would be too costly for most arcades to buy, probably at least twice as much as a regular DDR machine, and I don't think it would bring in twice the amount of money. Plus it would take up a lot of space that a lot of arcades don't have.
Third, the eleven footer thing seems interesting, but I think that it wouldn't be so awesome to have a bunch of eleven footers everywhere. I say, that all of the new songs would be 10 footers (not as hard as PSMO), and there would be one song that was just insane, like a legendary DDR song. And instead of being an "eleven footer" say it "has no rating" and just make the foot rating thing have static over it or something.
I had a couple Ideas that I thought they should add to DDR, one is, they should have a support for "couples" play, where the two sides complement each other and they get one score at the end. Another idea I had was if you had a DDR "HORSE" game where it would play a song that had a repeating chorus type of thing, like Candy* or something. The song would keep repeating a similar type of chorus, but change it up to keep it interesting so you don't go out of your mind to hear the same thing over and over. Anyway, when the first chorus starts, the first player makes up steps to it. Then, for the second chorus, the first player would have to repeat those steps again, in order to confirm that they weren't just doing random junk. Then the third chorus starts, and the second player has to do the steps the first player did and can add to them however they want to. Then the second player repeats it to confirm for the fourth chorus. And so on.
Just a thought. |

i had an idea, i dont know if others have thought of it.
you get an ID type card where it has your handle on it. the way it works is you go to a machine where you put like a 20 in and your card and it registers it to your card. then when you go to the arcade you stick the card into the slot at the ddr machine and you start your game!!! so its almost like a credit card. also, coin lines will be a thing of the past. when someone is playing, you put your card into the slot and a little coin pops up on the corner of the screen. then, when the person playing is done, the machine says the name of the person whos next!!! afterwards, your scores can be registered to the internet with some crap you hook up to your computer that will cost a poopy of money. i know this can only happen(if at all) in a place where the machine is fully respected and ppl understand the ddr machine cards. but hey, a kid can dream. _________________

Couples play would be a cool thing to have in the arcade version of DDR.
In general reply to this whole topic; why all this complicated stuff? Just make a new mix with every DDR song. You can organize the song list by Mix, and pick what you want. The end. _________________

Putting 4 pads in a row could cause some... umm.. collisions.. but think about it.. instead of doubles mode u have quad mode XD there's a nice excersize for ya.
when i said except for the songs and stuff i was refering to the song ideas he posted before.
I say forget the local arcades. Let's start a huge arcade chain of only ddr machines _________________

While that seems like a good idea in theory, it would be terrible for business. Simply put, nobody would spend any money on new mixes unless every single song was brand new, and the chances of that happening anytime soon are almost zero.

That could be the last DDR though. ITG came out with foot ratings over 10 feet. A full tribute DDR game to Everything before and including extreme can be *the last* DDR. Then we can all go spend our money on ITG. _________________

what the hell, ill post.
it would be cool in a new mix to be able to use those mods that arent selectable in DDR extreme without hacking(.25x,.5x,sudden/hidden,brake,fuwa fuwa, reverse boost maybe some new mods.) |
