Here's the situation:

You're waiting for your turn to play DDR in the arcade and you're next. The person playing right now is playing a mode that is ranked in the high score list. The person suddenly leaves from the pad for whatever reason.

You get up and play his game. You don't do as well as the other person and lose. After you lose, the machine asks for your initials since the score was high enough to be on the high score list.

Do you put in your initials or not?

I'm asking this because this happened to me a few days ago. I was the guy who left. When I came back, I saw someone else putting in their initials on my score. I was a little pissed, but, then again, I did ditch the game, didn't finish it and I could get a better score on it.

I think he was in the right. Obviously, you didn't want your game, so someone who appreciated it more took advantage of it. Besides, considering how many arrows you'd miss in the time between you leaving and the other guy jumping in, I imagine the score must've been pretty bad once he finished, so it wouldn't be too hard to take his spot if you just replayed the course.

I wouldn't unless the score was 100% mine.

as much as ive been looking to get my score on the list lately, i dont think i wouldve done that. yes, you did leave the machine, putting yourself at that risk, but it really wasnt his score, so he shouldnt have put his initials there. sry man, thats gotta suck

Hmmm yeah i think i'd be a bit pissed too if that was me....if it were me and i had to leave i'd probably wait for it to fail before taking off completely if i had time.

Still if you leave your game then nothing to stop someone else from playing and putting their name on even if they don't really deserve it...If it were me i'd probably put a joke name in. Besides it doesn't feel right having your tag on for something you didnt do....well my bf used my tag for one of his crappier dancemania double scores (to try and be nice cause its something i could never achieve laugh.gif) and i keep telling him to knock it off cause i don't like it being there riiight.gif

If you cared so little about the game that you walked away from it, you've got no reason to get pissed about anything that happened after you left.

we'd probably all like to think we wouldn't snatch up the opportunity...but if it happened to me, i would probably get mad and make sure everybody around knew who the score belonged to.

Honestly, it's freakin' initials on an arcade game. It's not like you get royalties for every person who sees your initials on the machine.

I'd go for it and put in my name for the scorelist since you did leave your game and I did play the remainder of my game. I just piggybacked some of your game and some of your score but I did do the rest.
