Pardon my potential ignorance, but it looks like there are slots on the bottom of the bongos for a stand to fit in....

What *is* the purpose of those horizontal slots on the bottom of the drums?

I don't know; I noticed that too.

It certainly does look like you can get a stand or something for it, but I just put it on a stool in front of me to play or I sit on the floor and play that way. =P

I sit in my chair cross-legged with the bongos sitting on my lap.

For easy travelling. When you wrap the cord around the controller, you can put the plug into the slots so it doesn't dangle around and trip you and attack other people at random and crazy stuff like that.

Yeah, I thought the slots were just for ease of carrying to. E1.gif

2 more golds left. I think it's Sing Sing Sing with a Swing and Para los Romberos. Soon...

I was in the mall yesterday and I finally got to play this game. It's sooooooooo much fun. I think I might get it for my little brother or something for christmas (since I don't really have a gamecube and I don't see the point in buying one only for this game) I hope more games like this come out here E1.gif

Finally. I just bought Donkey Konga. I am having trouble with unlocking all of the Gorrila songs, and getting a Gold on Chimp songs. Any advice?

PLay it over and over again. That's how I did it. =P Damn, I just realized. I haven't played in forever. =/ I need to go about playing because I still haven't unlocked all the songs on the harder difficulties.

To LAN040:
Here's how I did it. Play all the Monkey songs and get a gold on each of them. Then, you will be good enough to get a silver on each Chimp, so practice on all those songs (for some reason, I can't get a gold on Locomotion but I do on The Impression That I Get) and eventually you will get good enough for Gorilla. (Don't spend your money on sound sets, as they are disappointing, same goes for minigames, although I have unlocked everything)

Also, if you want an idea of what Gorilla charts are, play Jam Session Quartet, and merge the 4 player arrangements. That's a pretty good way to predict how hard the songs are.

And now, shameless plug: KongaNavy is my project to get something similar to VJA or PNN for Donkey Konga. PM me on my forums for registration info. E1.gif
Oh, and there is US and European mix support.
