I wear huge hiking boots. They might not be the easiest things to dance with, but its so much better. You can really hear the stomping....mmmm stomping..... |

well, at home i play barefoot....at the arcades i play in my reebok dmx rebounds cuz they absorb the pounding really good. im not a real big fan of wearing shoes during ddr though cuz i play on my tippy toes, and unless my shoes are really broken in, it hurts. one time i did try playing barefoot in the arcades and i got in trouble... ohh well... |

I just have a flimsy dance pad at my home so i use socks to play on that. Barefeet is too sticky. and when im at the arcade i use my vans because they are comfy. |

I used to wear my adidas all the time because they're light and have good traction. In fact, I bought them specifically for DDR.
Now I wear these black shoes I got at hot topic. They're "sugar" brand or something. They're even lighter than my adidas, but don't have quite as much traction. =/ They squeak a lot more than my adidas do too.
I feel like I'm talking about like... rpg equipment or something. o.O Like... things that have increased benefits always have a negative trait too. (i.e. my new shoes are light but have less traction). I'm a geek.
Oh yes and I prefer really light shoes, because I used to be a barefoot player and most shoes are too heavy for me. _________________

New Balance 991s...I like playing in socks better (I can't play at home completely bare-foot b/c when my feet sweat they stick to the pad)...shoes just weigh your foot down too much and i get tired way faster |

I'm with Edyn.
Socks for maximum comfort and they help my slide to arrows, which is invaluable on certain combos. Only doggy about them is when you hit the metal screws on the arcade pads....OUCH.
Other then that, socks are the shizznittlebam. _________________
