|
|
I have this problem that when I run DWI, I can't run anything else properly on my comp. Like copy pasting a print screen into paint will take ages or just not work. I don't have a poopy comp either, it's like a 2.2 ghz with 256 ram. I hate having to close DWI, do something insignificant, reboot DWI all the time. Is there a way to either not have it hog all the resources, or maybe save print screens somewhere directly? _________________

I'm pretty sure this is a design problem in the way threading is handled in DWI. In DWI3 there shouldn't be priority hogging like the current versions.
you should be able to override this by setting the thread priority using a flag in the shortcut; there's a few things in the readme.html file that relate to this type of thing. I can't recall the setting off the top of my head (especially after a really hard night of drinking last night in Toronto)
Cheers,

Not sure I understand what you mean exactly, but I downloaded StepMania and it doesn't have that problem so I'll use that instead Thanks though. _________________

Let me guess, you're having conversations with people over MSN/AIM? If that's the case, just put up an away message or change your status to away to let 'em know your busy.
If that's not the case, is it really that much of a bother to close DWI for a few minutes? If you're going to be doing random copying and pasting a lot, maybe you just do all of it AFTER you're finished dancin'. I wouldn't normally do SM between paragraphs when writing an english paper, it'd wreck my concentration (on both)

Make a shortcut, and add this to the command line:
/sdl /showsm /16bpp /fullscreen /fps:20
That's my magic formula. |
