I first started on a 3rd mix machine on a cruise ship $2 a round. I started on light obviously it was the first time I had played. By the end of the week cruise I could pass some songs on standard (trick at the time). When I got home I bought a playstation 2 and DDR max and a pad 3 days later. A week after that I started heavy. 4 weeks later I passed max300. Thats my beginning DDR career hehe. |

I saw DDR for the first time at a Laser Tag place here. I stood behind some people who were playing level 2-ish songs, and thought it looked easy. My first song was a level three, but I barely passed it. Everyone said I was good, though, so I bought Konamix a couple of months later, but then I tried to jump right back into it on a level three song, and failed miserably in front of my expectantly waiting family. First time I played, I thought it'd be easy for me, since I'd taken dance lessons (oh the naivety. lol)... well, needless to say I failed miserably. Was a 2nd mix machine btw =d Then I played a bit on DDR USA on the like.. easy mode or whatever (fricken four years ago. @.@) and at least got the hang of the game. About six months later, I went back to the arcade with the 2nd mix machine and had free credits so I played for six hours straight... and by the end of the day I could pass Brilliant2u on basic.
A couple weeks later.. I was forced up onto trick.. and I stayed there for like two years. o.o I dabbled in SSR (but I was terrible at it) when that same arcade got 3rd mix korean, but I didn't start playing Maniac/heavy until like last year when MegaManX kinda forced me to play more advanced things. >.>
I still suck though! =D Four years of playing and the only 10 footers I can pass are Sakura and Bag.. and that's only on good days with a B! I should play more. A lot more. _________________

Im getting C's on Standard songs for DDR Ex(US). Just started yesterday.
That PARANOiA ETERNAL song almost made me fall down. Hard to read / register the songs then move my feet hehe.

Well my friends and I were playing the heck out of the demo of DDRMAX so I thought... hey, this looks like a cool game to get. The game wasn't out yet so I got the first one (DDR USA I guess you could call it). Anyway, I must have played Boom Boom Dollar at least a dozen times. Why? Because it was one of the only songs on basic I could pass. I was jealous of my friend because he could pass Drop the Bomb and I couldn't. Same thing when I picked out DDRMAX a week later (and returned DDR USA). Everyone could do Rhythm and Police and I couldn't pass it at all!
So after a couple of months I saw that the arcade near my house (which I had not been to for awhile) had the game so I tried it out. OH man, it was so much different than the home version. I struggled through my first song and then I think I failed the next one or maybe the last one.
Since then I tried to get better. I found out there was a cheaper machine near my work and started playing there. That's when I saw some really good players, and after that I was determined to get better. I'm not the god of ddr or anything now, but I have my momments. _________________

I started off trying to play wildrush on light and some ohter songs on Konamix. I did sweat after some songs, I've been playing for about 2 years. _________________
