Hmm... I searched and serached and didnt feel like reading thorugh the mass amount of pages in the metal pad discussion so I thought I'd ask here.
My arrows are cracking on the plastic. Everyone but the top is cracked. I have a BNSUSA pad (not sure what thats comparible to, but thats what it says on the loewr left metal section). Anyway, is there a way I can replace the arrows without having to end up taking the cords out of the arrows or something? What would be the solution? Sorry if this has been asked before just link me to that post if you can, thanks a bunch. |

I didn't have a BNS pad but I did have an issue with my acrylic panels breaking. Click the blue text of the quote name if you want to read the entire entry that I made about the modifications I did to my Cypher Games metal pads.
Rychan, in her Livejournal wrote: | Within a week of playing on these pads, almost every arrow had a crack of some form, at that time I thought of replacing them with something stronger and had a DDR buddy that had done the same, however as time went and I tried to get ahold of him... California came and I left for two months.
When I got back, I really got serious about finishing this modification, so my dad and I went out and bought a rather thin acrylic plastic and sheet metal from Home Depot. The plastic cost me about $16 and made 12 panels. Home Depot themselves cut the squares and using a knife, my dad cut the corners.
I'd thought about doing my own arrow designs and started sketching in photoshop, but it quickly became a chore rather than fun, (I'd wanted to draw all of my friends and I anime style instead of arrows) so I tore apart two soft pads that were already garbage and used the arrow graphics on my new panels.
At first I had the metal completely over the bottom of the panel as described in the link I posted above for the MyMyBox but I found it was too heavy for the much thinner pieces of plastic I'd replaced the originals with. So I went back and cut each metal piece individually to just about the same size as the sensor. |
