Spyware issues? WTF? Anyone else get this?

I was just browsing DDRFreak on my other pc, and all my IE windows closed and there was some junk in the system tray about "remove your spyware now!" Of course the pc was laden with spyware when I started it, adware when I started inet and so forth, random desktop stuff popping up, things in taskmon that shouldnt be there and stuff in startup that shouldnt be there. Tried to clear it all, restarted, same problems. I'll run adaware and seachbot S & D and im sure itll be fine, but I was suprised this happened with DDRFreak after hours of surfing the net before. Anyone else with a similar experiance?
