I'd say a couple things.
First, chances are many people request songs. They probably look for songs they know are popular. If they don't even recognize a DDR song, they certainly won't pick it.
This brings me to my next point. Is it even available in the US? If you ask for Tsugaru to be played they're not going to bother looking hard for it when a bunch of people have requested the newest Britney Spears song. They're also not going to download it, so if it's not available here, then they probably won't play it.
You could always request a song that is on DDR, but is also well known. Such as the Reflex by Duran Duran, or Stomp to my Beat by JS-16. Those are available here and are a little bit more well known. _________________

I'm guessing you mean Channel One which is played in classrooms in the morning, generally in home room. I remember watching that back in Jr High and High School. I get the feeling we'd then get quite a few OMG I heard DDR on Channel One! threads or buzzing in the sticky. _________________

Yeah Spike is right on this one. Also Ready Steady Go by Paul Oakenfield or however you spell his name is a really known song _________________

i say you should request "A" from DDR Extreme. it has a nice beat to it and sounds real cool... or Dam Dam Dameir(something like that) you know the one that goes (Da de de dum da de dum da de dum da de da de da de dum da de dum dum dum.) |

Ones that are actually real songs outside of DDR would be good choices.
Also, about the Channel One school thing, that's captive advertisement. Someone refused to watch it 2 years ago, and they got suspended for 10 days because the contract they had with Channel One said everyone will watch it, period. |
