Me and him are having an argument about the song Tsugaru. He says it is a sumo wrestling theme. I have heard the instrument used in the song in many occasions. They play it during the samurai mini game in Kirby's Super Star and Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland. I also have heard it in many animes. A lot of the time during fighting tourniments and such. One example was this guy in Medabots who was playing it when he was using his bot to catch fish. Now please help me prove my moronic friend wrong. -_-

So wait, you're saying he's wrong because you've heard the INSTRUMENT used in a different song?

So...are all the songs that use a guitar the same?

yeah, theme doesn't equal instrument. and just because you heard it from a different source it doesn't make you right. a lot of people don't understand that sakura is a traditional japanese song, or that V is really winter from the four seasons by Vivaldi. your friend could very well be correct. Tsugaru might be based off of a traditional japanese song that is sometimes played in sumo wrestling competitions.

Seams very doubtful to me. Why not have a few sumo wrestlers in the background if it's a sumo wrestling theme?

That's hardly reason to disbelieve. Secret Rendevous only has two women in it, but it is NOT about lesbians.

*Whew* Well, the lyrics prove that it isn't....

Tsugaru is probably related to sumos, because it's Japanaese in SOME way. You're probably both right.

I doubt that it's JUST a sumo wrestling theme, because the shamisen(instrument used in Tsugaru/Sakura) is played during most traditional Japanese events/music.

Its a Koto in Sakura, not sure about Tsugaru.

Tsugaru gets it's name from a Japanese apple, hence Apple Mix in extreme.

Have you ever been to a sumo wrestling match? If you haven't, don't call your friend a moron.

I call my friend a moron, because he is opinionated as all hell, he never finds any legitimate proof to back up his opinions, and he argues about stuff that nobody really gives a f*ck about. I made this topic to make him shut the f*ck up! He really pisses me off sometimes.

Says the person who uses the reason "I've heard the instrument in other songs."

You're not really making a good case for yourself.
