I just recnetly started playing DDR a lot now. I have had it for a while, but now I want to start working out. My question is, how much weight can you lose playing DDR. I am pretty good at trick and can do some heavy. I have been playing for an hour or so every day lately. So how much can you lose. I will play 2 hours a day if it will help. (I have DDR Konamix)

Depends on your diet, your metabolism, and how active you are apart from DDR. Many people have good success stories to tell, but at the same time, I've seen some overweight DDR players who never change.

He's right. There isn't too much that DDR can do for you unless you have other things that add to your physical fitness (except for maybe playing multiple hours in a row with little/no break).

I lost 30 pounds in the first year of playing. I stopped for about 6 months and gained 10 of it back :X. I am however dropping again since I'm playing a lot more.

I started at 175, got down to 145 and now I'm about 152.

Calories is a measurement of energy, not weight. I doubt that there is then some crazy conversion to determine how much weight you lose by calories.

Why not? By expending energy, your body is forced to burn off fat, so you'd lose weight. I don't see why the conversion would have to be all that "crazy"

Right, but I can imagine that the difference would be different for different people.

Play all songs in a category of your Konamix disc on solo or on double at least 3 times a week. You will lose weight if you keep up with it. Don't worry about the fact that you can only do a few heavy songs. If you are strict with consistency you will lose weight and at the same time improve your skills in DDR. The trick is to have patience while at the same time improving your skills and having fun.

ok first off i'm pretty lazy! in spite of this i've lost 20 lbs with a weight watchers and ddr. i play an hour a day if not more, although when i first started i played less. i can honestly say ddr helped me loose more weight combined with my diet and it's a lot easier for me to focus on than the gym. i'm thinking of wearing velcroed weights to my hands while playing at home....has anyone tried anything like this?

I've heard of ankle weights while playing DDR and hand weights while playing Para Para Paradise... but never heard of hand weights for DDR.
