Here's a cute commentary on DDR from my 7-year-old

http://www.matts-hosting.com/users/carrases/bobddr.htm

Too much DDR, do you think?

I'd say that as long as he doesn't get obsessed to a point where his performance becomes more important than life itself, there isn't much to worry about. At least, he's being physically active while playing DDR.

That's it, you see. Tires him out good. No problems at bedtime.

Now if I could just get my 9 y.o. to do it for an hour a day...

its obviously so fake..it's probably drawn by some pedophilic 40 year old who tries to draw attention. Oh well, a 7 year old playing ddr is still a cute idea! ^^

Thats the only way to go. That is one of the only ways to get to the level of AAA'ing song at an early age. I have been playing 9 months and AAA'd 4 songs. All that matters is that he can play as much as he wants unless his school work is affected by it.

Hey sugarbyte. As soon as I get some video of my son playing, I'll let you know. In the meantime you can swing by the house to see his flying feet in action.

That scribbly drawing on the top is my son playing while the arrows - represented by the vertical lines - are going up to the step zone - represented by those 4 circles.

The bottom picture is of him at the beach. That rectangle around his middle is his bathing suit, he tells me.

oh yea, and she was actually kind of chubby on top of that! She got a B, no bar, and back then i didnt have much chance of getting more than halfway through. She failed LoM on hvy doubles, but got 3/4ths through it!

Ive also heard about these other 2 little girls who beasted everbody at the Katsucon convention (anime con with DDR, not sure how to spell it)

Don't dis sugarbyte. We don't know where he or she is coming from.

But I am inviting any fellow DDR freak who doubts my son's fantastic (OK; maybe I exaggerate a little) abilities to come by and see the man in action.

I should have made something else clear on that web page - While Bob and I don't suck too much at home, we really suck at the arcade. Neither of us can get more than a B on 4-footers.

I like hearing the stories of excellent tiny DDRers. I'm thinking maybe it's time to have a 10-and-under slot in tournaments.

Well first, you should find a feminine term to "moron", if that's your opinion of her... Sugarbyte's a girl...

Second, it is not uncommon that people invent a pre-fabricated life for themselves on the internet. I'm not saying it is the case here, judging by the person's reaction to it (ie: non-hostile, mature replies).

However, Sugarbyte might have seen more of that kind of crap than some other people would... Plus, she just stated what she believed of the situation, she didn't put it up as facts.

As they all say: don't go hatin', playa!

Not to go off-topic nor flame, but what's the thing with telling people off with the "internet penis" thing? Seems like nobody can post opinions without falling victim to that. Now I understand the use of it in the thread where Spike did it, and in that particular situation, it was actually funny because it was true...

However, ever since he did that, everyone and their families began to do it as well. Sugarbyte mentionned her opinion and doubts, nothing more. I do agree that the choice of wording is not the best one, but get over it, please.

It reminds me of what Maddox said on his site about people using Dave Chapelle's "I'm Rick James BLEEP!" line... It's funny once in a while, but not all the time...

Just my 2 cents here, nobody's forced to agree... take em or leave em!
