My McAfee just popped up and told me I just was infected with two viruses when I clicked on the "Forum" link on the main page. |

The plural of virus is viruses. I don't know about these re-gourds of yours. |

It's Virii.
And it's not just leet speak, it's the proper plural form.
...at least that's what I was always told . _________________

It's Virii. |
No. The plural of virus is viruses. The 'virii' thing comes from bad latin. 'Virus' is a rare form that doesn't have a plural (either viri or virii, like you would think). So in english, the plural is 'viruses,' and in latin, there is no plural. Look it up.
Edit:
Vic, hide that url with bbcode. It's raping the layout. |

Sorry about that.
Anyway, I got another unblockable ad on this forum. Its one of those things that show a small Pop Overs, which can launch the popup from. Did DDR Freak get popups or something? _________________

If you get popups, please let me know what the ad is for, and the URL. That will help us determine which ones the advertisers need to pull. _________________

Two popups:
First one
This one came up first. Ad saying I won a free iPod and telling me to claim it.
Second one
This one came up after I closed the first one. "Get Your Degree Online" or something to that extent. |

So if any "new sponsors" were added today, I suggest you or someone knowledgable double-check the scripts or delete them ASAP. If your computer is crawling right now, that's probably why... (Ctrl/Alt/Del) that poopy. It hit me on the first branch-off of the forum (Gameplay/Console/Arcade/etc.).
Thank you for playing!

Yes, it was being used to install some programs; the main one being called "Sidefind". I tried to uninstall it this morning, and it destroyed my registry. I spent most of today reinstalling Windows (as even Explorer.exe became uninstalled). Fortunately, it kept most of my file system intact. :whew: Saved most program reinstallations. I just had to restore file associations. FUUUN. And yeah, it was the main branch of the forum. |

I love using Mozilla. If I see a banner ad or other advertising picture from an ad site, I just right click it and click "block images from this server". Also, Mozilla stops popups on its own. Then, I have another program running called e-dexter, which block further banner ads. I also have Mozilla prompt me before accepting any cookies (I block all cookies unless I need them to log in to something). So overall, I see about 1% of internet advertisements
Just about the only ads I see are either part of the html of a page, or ads that are flash movies.

That FlashTalk installer popup came back again.
I didn't see which ad made that happen though. I think it was one of the Flash ads with a fake dialog box. |
