okay, just wondering. after modding then i'll duct tape 'em down instead.
is this the BNS DX that you were talking about?
which "cheapo" softpad is closest (in size, shape and accuracy) to the real metal arcade pad?
do u think around $185 would cover two "cheapo" softpads (or 2 BNS DXs), the necesarry mods, and DDRExtreme?
is it even necesarry to mod a BNS DX? i need these pads to last a good LONG time with no defects. _________________

heres how i modified mine. got a 3 1/4 inch thick plywood, put it underneath and taped it down with duck tape. voila lol. works great cuz the arrows always register.
my cousin (the idiot he is) made a bar from pvc pipe. he tried to jump it and it broke on him sending him to the ground breaking his arm.
But yea lol this is the easiest way to make it work better. |

okay, so here's what i'm gonna do...
get a HUGE board of plywood, 3 maybe 4 inches thick, with enough room for two pads. tape the two pads down, and boom. dance stage done.
good idea?
...should the area of the plywood be just enough for the two pads or a little bigger? and how do i get these suckers to stay down? _________________

I bought a $25 Sony pad, God is this thing ugly and kinda annoying!@# Seems that the sensors are too big! If I'm too close to one of the buttons (square, O, X, triangle) I might be stepping on its equal direction so the U D L R don't respond@!# I think I'm gonna open the plastic case and disconnect the X O square and triangle buttons from the pad. _________________

You know you can probably disable those buttons from the option menu of the game, rather than having to crack open the pads.
I was having the same problem with my friend's (on Konamix) and that helped immeasurably. |

No one ever mentions the MyMyBox ignition-style pads. I just bought 2 on eBay from premiumgame for $53 + shipping & ins ($76 total). To me, they're perfect. I'll eventually upgrade to hard foam (they come with dense), but besides that, I don't see how they could be better unless they were metal. _________________

They're the mats you buy (usually from an office supply store) that you can put down on carpet that makes it so a chair with wheels can roll around easily.
Make sure you get the kind without spikes on the bottom. |

I just got a Dual Platform Ignition 2.0, and it just doesn't seem as good as it should be! I'm missing steps for no reason...I think when I step in the center it triggers the down arrow. However, I can't really be sure, because the only game I have to test at the moment is the original PS DDR, and I never was able to play on 30 fps. As soon as I get my copy of MAX2 back, I'll be able to make sure....
Also, my pad came with this mysterious cable with absolutely no explanation whatsoever. One end looks kind of like a headphone plug, and the other end just has a hole in it, presumably to plug something else into there. Anyone know what this plug does? _________________

My friend has a Konami Soft Pad and I was wondering if anyone knew how to open the pad up and modify/fix it. The link to the guide in the first post doesn't work. So if anyone could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. |
