I know some people get irritated by nearby games while they're playing DDR. It might be because of the annoying music, clicking of the buttons, or something else, and it probably throws people off their AAA or extra stage attempt. I'm curious as to what games bother you while playing DDR.
For me, there's two, and these should be far from the DDR machine:
1. Air hockey tables when in use (and at one arcade where I play sometimes, it's always in use).
2. This "Hammerhead" redemption game. The stupid music can't be turned down, so it goes off loud at random times when nobody is playing. And when it's playing, I'm waiting for that one pirate and those kids to say Spongebob Squarepants.

At one arcade I go to, there's another music game called I Can Boogie (which is more or less just a giant Eye Toy). It's positioned right next to the DDR machines, so it's very unnerving to be playing [insert song name] on DDR and suddenly hear Barbie Girl at an ear-piercing volume. _________________

IBTL.. You might want to try the arcade forum, Yo.
Any Bemani game shouldn't be within 10 feet of annother bemani game, unless on the other side. _________________

The arcade that I play at has like all those konami movement/techno beat games right next to eachother. So while I'm trying to play ddr, there'll be a guy next to me doin that turntable game, and another guy on the other side doin that hand moving game. Plus, that guitar one and the drum one are both nearby. How stupid. _________________

The arcade I frequent has this one game right next to the Extreme Machine. It tends to make this noize that sounds exatily like losing a bar in Oni mode. God, that sucks. _________________

Our machine is next to a Wonder Wheel ticket game. It shrieks out "Wonder Wheel!!" at the most random times and screws people up. _________________

Pretty much any version of PIU, since their sound systems are so vastly superior to those of DDR and completely overpower the music. _________________

It's been established by many people that of course - Beat games in general (I.E. any BEMANI, PIU, or whatever) should NEVER be next to each other unless seated directly behind the machine with the speakers pointing in the opposite direction.
Other games that should never come within the vicinity of a Beat Game (specifically DDR in this case):
1. Those kiddie redemption games with the loud "attract" features. I.e. - WONDER WHEEL, Wheel of Fortune, LIGHT HOUSE, and most crane games.
2. ANY Pinball machine. (Period.) Especially the Austin Powers one. While it's funny, it's also loud.
3. Fighting Mania. Kenshiro is really obnoxious sounding (like Bruce Lee).
4. MOCAP games. (Like Mazan: Flash of the Blade, Police 911 or whatever) Those people bounce around so much while playing that they can get in your way.
5. Kiddie Rides. Mainly the Snoopy's Red Baron ride. Because it plays the obnoxious Peanuts theme. OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
But I have the ultimate game that should never be placed near a BEMANI type game. Heck...it shouldn't even be in an arcade with BEMANI:
Air-Compressed Simulators.
We have one of these at our local DDR spot. It's a fun ride. Although it costs 5 dollars. It's bulky and sits at the other end of the arcade from the DDR machine.
BUT THAT DOESN'T EVEN HELP.
When the simulator is run during the day, it does make noises while it's running and can be slightly loud. But the DDR machine is perfectly able to handle the sound and you can hear the music over the simulator. But because the simulator runs on a giant air compressor...well, air compressors have to refill after a certain amount of use. That's where the problem comes in. When the motor for the air compressor comes on, it is SO LOUD the people in the stores across the hallway from the arcade have complained. It makes this obnoxious old-car-backfiring noise. You can barely hear the DDR machine over it, even though the DDR machine is a good 100 feet away. The other problem is a lot of times the air compressor will start up while the simulator is running. And both machines running together drowns out the noise of the DDR machine almost completely. It's really annoying on Oni Courses especially. Because it goes on for the length of about 2 and 1/4 songs.
I'm thinking of dismantling the whole thing myself. _________________

I think Time Crisis 3 shouldn't be nearby a DDR machine due to the fact those clicking guns irritate the hell out of me. _________________

At OUR arcade, there is a basketball machine convienently placed next to the DDR machine, so whenever some stupid little fagot misses a shot, it lands on the pad and you might trip/slip on it. Then to the right of it is an Air Hockey table... what were they thinking?
In fact, it makes me feel like this guy

I know at Narrows the Para Para maching is like RIGHT NEXT to the Extreme machine, which really pisses me off because it's like one notch louder. So it'll drown out the delicious DDR sound and piss me the hell off. Kinda I'll start a song, and in the middle of the song someone will come up and start playing, and I'll have a full combo, and it'll go all loud, and I'll be like "DAMMIT ALL!!!!!! Yep, i've seen that as well. Someone was playing doubles, and there's these two kids that couldn't make a shot to save their life. So they started throwing - not shooting - the ball at the hoop and missing like crazy. The balls bounced off the backboard and toward the DDR machine, but fortunately, none of the balls went onto the pad because the player was doing real well.
