New Forum Idea.

I have an idea for a "Study Hall" forum where talk about school can go since I see plenty of things in Random Chat that are school related-somewhat...

What do you guys think?

Oh and I thought the Furnace was cool too. Where you can rant and flame as long as it's not at a certain person (ie. member of this forum).

I second the notion on the furnace (april fool's = winnar), but I don't think that the study hall forum would be used much. But I could be wrong...

the furnace might just turn into someone's LJ though. less restriction on what people post=waste of bandwidth the way I see it. obviously that's not my decision to make, but on a site that gets a lot of traffic like this one, it may just be a time bomb waiting to explode...

What are the things that paid members will be getting if they do pay for the forums?

I'm also assuming that the paying term is meant as a donation to the site not like paying to be able to post right? As in, it'll only be for the people who want the special features and the people who pay?

I should add that we have not 100% decided to do any form of payment. We're nowhere near anything like that. It was more of a "hypothetically, if we did do it sometime in the future, what would we include?" type conversation.

It would not cover every user. In other words, you wouldn't HAVE to pay just to have access to the forums. But, you could pay (probably just a one time donation) and have access to extra things. A couple things we discussed would be on-site hosting of avatars/banners (so you wouldn't have to keep finding crappy free hosts). An adult-oriented forum (a more mature forum, not a porno forum

). Things like that.

But again, none of this is set in stone.
