I'm certain this has been suggested before, but . . .

How difficult would it be to include a field in the locations section for the High Score boards? I can't imagine it would be all that tough, and if verification was an issue, you could just use the system already in place for the validity of the machine. Just a thought.

Keeping it up to date would be an ungodly amount of work.

I'd almost like to see a nationwide highscore page for the oni/nonstop courses... people submit their pictures and we make a mock higscore image with the initals. I know NNR already has people listing their scores and whatnot, but we can do the same, only using the actual graphics from the game. I dunno, just an idea.

runninga simple picture/video required region or nation highscore woudl be cool and even if you did it by just each reagion hthat is on freak woudlnt be too bandwidth heavy for the actual amount of use it woudl get (not to mention that far more people knwo of ddrfreak than of nnr)

That sounds feasible, honestly.

I maintain a local version of this thing.

One problem is glitched scores for Naoki -neo standard-. Do you include them into the high score list because they are on the machine?

Who would have to look at all the photos?
How would you know if that score photo came from the machine location that the submitter claims it to be at?

I don't think glitched scores should be allowed, seeing as though it's a bug in the game.

Who'd look at the photos? Since the scores would probably be split up by region, so it'd be up to the region moderators. As for the validity, I think the moderators in that region would be able to tell if the person was bluffing or not. Posting habits = credibility of scores. For example, I'd believe a high score that a trick member posting here for 2 years ago over a beginner member that just started posting 2 days ago. It's discretion, really. AIJ probably does the same thing with their AAA photos;, a lot of people like having their face in the pictures they take with their scores anyway. That would solve the problem too. E1.gif

I don't see why you'd HAVE to validate anything. We all know what is feasible and what isn't. I'm just curious as to where machines have gone, who has tagged what, that kind of thing. All you'd have to do is submit it, much in the same way as the location itself. Have like, "Verifier stars" next to it, or something of that nature. Also, it's really easy to tell what is and isn't a glitched score. So, just make some annotation. I'm just curious as to who is on what machines throughout the nation. As for bandwidth, and upkeep/maintenance, it wouldn't take up much more than what people put into it. I don't see it getting all that crazy.
