ransai's are actually 250 plus 25 dollars for shipping. But they are still worth it.

I actually bought a controllica controller (www.controllica.com). It was a little more expensive (282 with shipping) than a Ransai but it is made out of metal instead of wood. I REALLY like it, and it works great. The 282 was a special sale price though, so I don't know if it is still going on. Normally they are 300 without shipping.

Anyway, from my own research about controllers, I have heard that all the ASC's are good (Ransai, Desktop Arcade and Controllica). They are all in the same price range (250 - 300 dollars) and there isn't much difference between them besides cosmetic differences.

Edit: I just went over to the Ransai homepage and they are indeed making controllers for 150 + 30 for shipping. They are actually entitled Kagura's, and they won't be as high quality as an actual Ransai, but still....150 for a pop'n controller is a steal, especially if they will hold up to the abuse a pop'n controller can take. If anyone is interested, check out the Ransai forums.

Hello Pop'n fans!!!

For what it's worth, I've only been able to play Pop'n twice, at two different tournaments I've attended.

Just 2 days ago, at the Nearly = September tournament, it was about an hour before the tournament ended, and almost nobody was in the back game room, when I whored 100 Sec. Kitchen Battle on 5-line (I played it about 6 times in a row), simply because I love the song and knew I wouldn't get a chance to play it again for some time. I did try it on 9-line, but it was just too hard for me to read. lol

Pop'n, in my opinion, is one of those games that can get you hooked even if you suck, or even if you don't play at all but have seen it.

Even Japanese girls who aren't good get hooked on those games. Then all the sudden they become pros!

Just got my ransai, man does it kick buttocks. I like it a lot better then the ASC too, it is less noisy and has a lot more sensitive buttons. My scores are already sky rocketing and I'm getting 95k+ on lots of stuff now...I even managed a 92.5k on 100sec kitchen battle Hyper. This thing is great, and looks amazing too.

What's up?
How are you doing?

<3 Pop'n. If you're interested in a Desktop Arcade controller, I've got a few extra black ones from my current batch, and I'm starting a new batch on September 1st. Go to my website for ordering details.

Hey everyone,

We're still working hard to bring pop'n to all of you... but the summer is quickly coming to a close. I just thought I'd quickly toss out a few thousand words about Ransai before we taper off production entirely for the summer...

With Kagura (150USD economy PnM ASC) all assembled, with new stealth lighting (first public video below,) and other goodies on the way (check the website...) we feel we've had a great run already... but we're still working on for everyone, so don't worry... you too can get something mentioned in these
1 5 . T H O U S A N D . W O R D S!

Ransai does, and will always do, Pop'n Music.

(So don't worry about our other products getting in the way of what brought us to you to begin with.)

Anyhow, that's my ~15,130 words. (Yes, the videos are moving pictures, and no this aside wasn't counted.)

Thanks for taking them all in.

Well guys, I'm kinda/sorta new to the pop'n arena, BUT I did get to play on both the Ransai and Kagura controllers at Random's place(OMG SuperSWEEEEEEEEET), and I still suck, but I think I like it better than the Konami ones. Well, I can't wait to get mine all setup!!!

The first Desktop Arcade eBay auction is under way!

(At least) bi-weekly, Desktop Arcade will have at least one controller on eBay, usually with artwork, and often with artwork exclusive to our eBay auctions! The first controller up for bids is the Sakura pedal design by Desktop Arcade's lead artist, Sarah Moulder.

This is the controller you might have seen or played on at Otakon 2004 if you were there; or one of the few Mid-Atlantic Bemani tournaments that Desktop Arcade brought with us to the events. While it has been used, the buttons and the microswitches have all been replaced with new ones (even though it wasn't needed), and no touch-ups to the paint were needed, because it looks as new as it did when Sarah finished it!

This auction ends September 06, 2004 a little after 7 PM EST. So bid early and good luck!

/end commercial.

WOOHOO I FINALLY GOT MY KAGURA (economy Ransai controller) AND CAN OFFER A REVIEW!

Came Friday afternoon, in 4 days not 2 or 3 (grr). But anyway, here's the part u all care about, the pics biggrin.gif!

I must say this plays beautifully (just a tiny, and i stress tiny, bit of tension on the right yellow button, but it is barely noticeable). Sanding job is very well done, and i like the kagura logo. I would have prefered for this to be shipped in a box,, but it was well-packed and protected nonetheless. Such an addictive game, pop'n is! Right now i can only beat 16-17's, but im gettin there.

Look out Yos and Robo, here I come! 8).

I know its lazy and probably n00bish but I have to ask:

Does anyone have the EXACT spacing speasurements for an ASC?
I want to start on one but heard that the measurements from that one site...forgot the link, green page, was inacurate?

It's annoying me to no end, I user google for over 4 hours, no results E19.gif

I'm using buttons from Albericii, I believe they are 9 cm in diameter.
Thanks a million!

... which is of fine quality, although not quite as fun to play with as the ASC is. *cough RANSAI cough*.

Isnt that a bit too spaced apart? The buttons I have are 5mm shorter than the real domed ones too.
