Hey,

I'm half Asian. I've gotten that comment before, and from my g/f too -_-. As much as it is a compliment, it is also a racist comment. Really, how am I any better than anyone else who isn't Asian/part Asian?

. It can be offensive, depending on who says it and how it is said. But, I didn't get this far without some dedication and effort put into ddr. However, some of the people in Northern California are more stereotypical.

Ah well...I'll edit this if I can think of what I was going to say.

I am Asian and appearance-wise, I look like somebody who would be really good at DDR. I even told some people I was the best player in town and those idiots believed me too. Truthfully, I know I'm not that good. I can only beat about 50% of the catas and certainly nothing that is 10 feet.

Well, I do have a tiny bit of Filipino in me

However, I'm mostly Mexican/Caucasian, so maybe some people who look at asians as being "The Supreme Masters" may be surprised at watching someone like me (Can pass MAX 300/MaxX Unlimited Standard and some 7-8 foot Heavy songs). Of course, I PRACTICE and WORK HARD, which is more important than RACIAL BACKGROUND.

I'm half-asian and I get the "yu0're 4sian, yu0r t3h g00d" like once or twice by my friends, but it's usually making fun of the people who actually believe that. Most of the time, NOBODY'S around.

I only play "for real" about once a week. But I play Stepmania and CCR like a mofo and "study" videos constantly. A healthy diet of ramen noodles (ultimate slacker food) helps too, and everybody eats ramen noodles so everybody's good.

Simply put, one's racial background should not (and is not) a base of skill level for DDR. Never has been, never will be.

I don't care WHAT race you are. You're only as good as you want to be. Screw the 'race' card.

Well, to be honest, asian people, they are "small". What I mean by that is like , think about it, have you ever seen an asian person that was 6"4 (that is 15-18), and no answering with like celebrities like Yao Ming. It's true. They are smaller, and lighter, therefore, able to move about quicker.

I'm sorry if this may sound making fun of, but really, I am not racisit, I am simply brainstorming a point.

Eric Tiko: That's bullshiet. Size does not matter in any way. You can be 6'4, 300lbs, and still able to keep up, or surpass anyone that's "lighter" or "smaller". My man Chubs can vouch for that.

Chipp: I'd advise you to stop before you become more than just an shallow newb. You obviously don't know what you're talking about.

This point was brought up, but I'll bring it up again. Race has nothing to do with your skills in this game. If you're good, you're good. If you suck, you suck, just get better.

And for the record, I don't like aZn's. They have a tendancy to be very annoying WiTh ThEiR TyPiNg LiKe ThIs and thinking they are the shiznitdabnabbit just because they're asian.

im pretty much mexican, no asian or AZN :-P but im still pretty good, so yeh race has nothing to do with it, it just takes practice, and yeh sometimes it gets frustrating, but yeh they probly think that you Asains dont practice for this stuff which most likely do unless your a DDR god, but yeh, people think it just comes to you with no practice or anything, so yeh its like playing a guitar with out practice playing the guitar your not going to be good at playing the guitar, so if you dont practice at DDR your not going to be good.

Well, I was just speaking from experience. I know it wasn't true you know, because I'm 6"0, 14 years old, and I've never seen an asian person taller than me. But they are probably better (only 7-8 footies max).
