I have begun to set up a SMOnline League. If you dont have SMOnline go here:
http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=92632

We will have two brackets. Alpha 20-21, and Alpha 22.Every week, we'll designate a time to play, and a server to play on.

The rules
Marvelous must be enabled. Every round there will be one eliminated. The last one still there wins.

And we will have a small website where scores will be kept.

Scoring
Scoring will entirely be based on how many people are in the tournament. If theres 5 people playing, the winner will get 5 points, 2nd place will get 4 points, and so on and so forth.

Which is an incredebly dangerous idea with some of the people on this board. I would enter, if I didn't suck so incredibly.

I'm pretty sure that later versions of SM online are going to let you know what judge difficulty the people are on. (I think i heard that somewhere...)

I'd enter. Only problem is, people with alpha 22 can't play with alpha 21 and 20'ers, but 21 can play with 20, and I still have 20. We'd have to have everyone on a certain alpha, and I rather like my alpha 20.

Hello everyone. I'm co-developer of SMOnline and SMLAN along wich CNLohr. I have spent most of my time working on a LAN server that doesn't suck. I can tell you that the incorporated LAN server and in game stats system is very very near to completion. CNLohr and I have made huge strides in the past few weeks. There are only one or two bugs that CNLohr and I have to address. CNLohr and I hope our LAN system will be incorporated into the next alpha, but no promises. It's up to higher powers. Although SMLAN is not the same as SMOnline, completing the incorporated server will allow me to focus on developing the SMOnline server, using similar methods for the online server. We have yet to come up with a method for securing online play because of the nature of open source. Perhaps CNLohr and I can devise a way to screen gross irregularities in stats tracking or something. I personally feel that playing for simulated cash would incur cheating, so I doubt that will be a feature. Unless we can devise a way to prevent cheating. Any ideas on how to address cheating are greatly welcome.
