It all depends. This is coming from someone who has flamed constantly to the nubxors and 1337 alike. I just recently (less than 5 minutes ago) got points for flaming. You know what? It was worth it. I'm not saying that because it's cool to get points (points are bad kids) but sometime you gotta do what you gotta do. If someone flames my friend, I have to stick up for them, and no amout of points can stop that, even if it means that I'm banned.

I dunno. Maybe we should just start locking threads that the individual has posted in. That seems to incite enough anger in people to get them to leave. E15.gif

I don't mean to demean anyone here, but it's like raising children. If your children respect you, then they understand the negative stimulus of a punishment. If they don't, then punishment doesn't work, and only serves to drive a wedge further between you. And in that regard, if someone's posting here and doesn't respect our rules, then they'll eventually get banned (kicked out of the house), and all is well again.

I don't think the warning comes so much from receiving the points as knowing if you act like a dick N more times you're going to be banned. I agree that sometimes it's necessary to take a point. You can look at it and say 'here, I got this by standing up for what I had to.' They're like nasty little badges. Badges made of poopie.

We could just insta-ban if you'd like =P

Actually, the way it works now, you can end up flaming a lot more times. It used to be where you got 3 warnings and that was it. Now that the warning system is implemented, we don't always give 3 point warns for flaming (we chose 9 points so that generally you'd get banned after 3 warns). With postwhoring, you usually get 1, or other smaller things. Then the points go away if you don't get warned. So lucky you guys E10.gif

I like it here, even if there are a lot of idiots.
