Obnoxious and rude DDR players

We don't really have any rude people at our arcade.. except for one time.. on saturdays at our arcade, as soon as it opens, there's 10 free credits, and this was my first time actually going to the arcade so early and all, so i was really having a good time with the ddr machine, ya know? then this mom and her little kid insisted on playing.. i had already used one of the credits, and apparently they thought it was ok to play with me without even asking me... that didn't bother me much.. they even let me pick the first song.. so i was nice and did la copa de la vida on light, and not even halfway through the flippin song, they left.. so someone else joined at the end of it, and we each played until the ten credits were through, when i had to start using my own tokens.. and as soon as i put my first three tokens in, the same mother and her little kid showed up , along with what looked like a few other family members, and demanded that i let them play alone. of course, i said they could play after i did, so the mother started yelling at me and such and went to the manager of the arcade, after which he came up to me while i was playing and told me they had been waiting in line for about an hour, when they had only just got there.. so i told him they were lying,and luckily hes a nice guy, so he believed me. anyways, they left as soon as he had a little talk with them.. hehe..

I think the most rudest thing i have encountered so far was I was bringing my little brother on what i call the "Las Vegas DDR Tour".
I brought him to all the arcades on the strip and played ddr with him(more like I tag along he is alot better then me) and ended it at sams town. We had gotten to the Excaliber part of the tour(not the best stop but still fun) and were waiting to get on the machine. This snot nosed kid walks up and sees me and my brother waiting so he grabs the back bar and is basically on top of the existing player holding his tokens in his hand.........
the third song ends and i go to get on and he dumps his coins in....i tried to be polite and let him know we were next and he told me "no I WAS" and proceeds to play. His mom was video taping him so i didnt wanna get caught on tape beating a 10 year old. So we wait and the third song ends and his mom hands him more tokens and the lil sh*t turns to us and smiles.

The best was though when I was at Sams Town and was waiting for a movie to start and killing time playing. 3 big....and i mean fat as f**k "yo boys" come into the arcade and try to mock me....waving around and jumping and laughing. I finished my song and turned to them and in my best non sarcastic tone explained mabye they should try it because I used to weight alot too and it helped me shed weight.

I have had my share of kids and bad parents like the rest of ya....there should be a law.
and while we are on "should be a law" little kids who apply extreme pressure to the pads.....i mean lift the leg up and pile drive it into the pad pressure need to be outlawed.

and my a55hole award of the century goes to the guy who the other day was watching me play and when my turn was over took a year and a day to choose a song(he was listening to the whole clip of EACH song) then picks captain jack on heavy and fails in under 3 seconds....he didnt know what he was doing.....u could tell he had never played before. That i can forgive but when i go up and try to be nice and let him know thats a hard song for a beginer and ask him if he would want to try again ill help him pick a better song and setting he told me to f**k off....

But then I picked them up and used them for my next game....at a different arcade

Man, thats sad that they threw them at u. Psh, man.... Someone knock my token on the floor before. the cup was full of tokens and some jerk knock it down. So I turn around and punched him. i knew it was him since he was the only person who put his token on the machine and knock the cup down.

Ok I went to the mall one weekend to to see Bam Margera and Tosh Townend at the ZumieZ couch tour. I decided to go play some ddr, while I was waiting for my turn this dude comes up thinkin' he's all badass and picks afronova on heavy, after stomping the hell out of the first four or five steps he starts cussin' up a storm. He was all like "F*** this and F*** that. By time the song was over he was really pissed and he started yelling at the machine as if it were a disobedient bootcamp recruit. After his temper tantrum he threw his game tokens at the pads and took a swing at the machine !!! he managed to put a huge crack in the protective plastc layer that covers the screen. He ran like mad and I've never seen the jerk again. boy did that make me mad !!!



I think that is the most hilarious non-visual DDR moment I have read on these forums. I would die if I saw that in reality.

eh, this didn't happen at the arcade, but I was staying with my grandparents for a while, and they kept mocking me the whole time for playing ddr. I was already pissed about that, and this guy walks up and asks me, "Are you Mantis?" so I'm like "That's me" and he gets all punk and poopy and starts swearing. He's like "You little 13 year old gay, you're gonna rot in hell, you're a f*ckin homo." This guy was 16, I was 13, needless to say, I punched his freakin lights out.

I hadn't played the arcade version of the game (until recently) for a long time due to rude players.

I play where ever I can find a machine, and sure it started out as just a couple people cursing and using racial slurrs. Then it progressed to people bumping my token back so they could go first, or someone just staying on the machine for another turn when someone elses token was up.

Then they started picking on me personally, and went so far as to one time a guy litterally grabbed ahold of the back of my t-shirt while I was playing Healing Vision: Angelic Mix on heavy, and threw me off the machine into the wall and another arcade game. I twisted my ankle and knee, and have had problems with them ever since. I used to have a terrible time getting even 8th notes because my knee would lock up.

Yesterday I was playing and there were a couple guys that were mocking a girl that I had been talking to. They were picking on her and all, but she was A LOT better than they were... So I'm not sure what the heck they were doing.

Grr. People = bleh.

I know it didn't happen at an arcade, but I'll never understand why people say that guys who play DDR are gay. They're playing a game, and anyone at an arcade is there to play a game to, so by that logic, wouldn't they be gay too? And I think that guys choice of words was kinda evil; I'm glad he got his a$$ kicked. On another note, all the securty guards at my arcade are spanish so if someone was pissing a hipanic off, they don't always break it up (but in some cases they do, like every time its happened to me ). I love being spanis .

Well, there were these really good players, And As some may know, I highly respect good ddr players, but when I got on they act as if I was newbie (in some peoples eyes I may be) since I am on 7-10 footers, (7 when I am on alone so I don't waste too much money) and It was an offday so I was screwing up miserably....Talk about disrespect for fellow DDR players, good or bad, at least I don't laugh at them physically maybe just in my head but, honestly, if someone is having an offday, you don't laugh at him because one day, he might just come back and beat the daylights out of you. (in ddr or outside)

By the way, a few posts ago, If someone threw quarters at me, I would just catch them and use them. While playing DDR however would probably be a diffrent story.

my words of advice: Make the right friends. If you are with a group of good players, most likely no one will mess, and for those of you that let this continue, not trying to be mean or anything, but that's freakin pathetic. Guys, don't stand for this. Use those highly toned DDR legs and kick them to death! Don't fear the mall security guard! Let the bullies touch you once, and then they're fair game. If you're a minority (black, asian, hispanic), then just beat them up anyways! You guys can't get in trouble for anything!

Last year at the fair We had DDR Max2 and no one picked on me b/c i play football. I konw what you mean like the people that watch you play give you dirty looks and think "O thats soo gay why do the even play that." And you konw the only people who dont like DDR are people that suck at it am i right or what? Now they took DDR out this year and I got pissed off.

The reason why most people won't play just poke fun at you is because they will lose their reputation of being da bigest macho men in da skewl and they think they're going to be called gay.

They're just scared and insecure about themselves. Just don't pay any attention to them when they say "ur gay" or "this game is for sissy azns wit no life".
