I jumped and put my feet in the middle for every step. Need I say more?

I was pretty good. Took me about 3 first tries to get myself in control...but I could still only do, at best, Light mode.

On Light, I thought Orion.78 (Civilization mix) was the hardest song on the planet...

I was beyond terrible. I used to see my brother do Wonderland backwards on heavy (he did it alot) and get an A, and he would curse the machine like crazy. I would get a D on light and start singing "Whoomp There It Is" (4 years ago that was my happy song).

That was 4 years ago. I still can't AA many songs, but A. I don't try to, and B. I can pass 95% of the songs in all mixes on heavy. Damn I miss 3rd mix...

When I first started, I knew how to play the game, but that was about it. I dunno why, maybe years of playing other video games with similar "hit a button when a marker reaches a certain point on the screen" type gameplay helped. Beyond that, though, I was like most other DDR players: Step, back to center, step, center, step, center, jump, center, step, etc. Got a C on Have You Never Been Mellow Basic/Light, a C on Boom Boom Dollar Basic, and failed Butterfly because I was so exhausted. Played later that same day with a woman in her 30s, and got worse grades than her. laugh.gif

I was naturally talented and AAA'd PSMO the fist try without the bar and didn't even break a sweat sweat.gif . Actually I couldn't even pass many songs on light because I always stepped on the metal. I actually was pretty good when I started playing on a DDRMAX home version. I just went right down the list and I think the first song I failed was probably a four or five footer. Then again, before that I played on the computer until I got to maniac.

I started on DDRMAX2 with an uber crappy soft pad, but I skipped beginner and started on light. It was cool, within a few days I got an AA on Tsugaru light. For some reason, I actually did the lesson mode...

I couldn't pass Butterfly on beginner mode. Seriously. I had big issues with finding my way around the pad. It felt like the down arrow kept changing position. riiight.gif

When I had first started playing, in March, DDR wasn*t really new to me because all my friends at the arcade played it and have been playing for a really long time and I always sat there watching them because it amused and amazed me. o_o Then, my boyfriend got me to start playing [[ He*s really good ]] I was on light and getting b's and c's, and now I*m on heavy, and I*ve double AA'd a few songs. E4.gif But I don*t have a PS2 or anything so I don*t own any DDR, I have to go to the Arcade almost every other day, or my friend*s houses.

At first I didn't know what you were talking about. Then I realized what you meant, and that doesn't seem like the type of thing you would want to do in public.

I first started on 4-foot lights...the first song I tried was Break Down (got a D)...I've had friends who I would watch playing so I at least knew when to step...

I used to think Afronova, paranoia kcet, and Xenon were unbeatable, and then all of those Challenge mode songs...to me they were insanely fast...now, they're, like...in slow motion...it's strange how they came from one extreme to the other...

The first time I started out, I was like, "What the heck do I do". But eventually got used to it and the first song I passed was Butterfly Upswing Mix on Light, then after that, I skipped light and I got used to it very fast.

I used to think the exact same thing. At that time, I could easily do Sakura Light but could never figure out Afronova until later on during my Light Escapades.

and GOOHD-NESS GRAY-SHIOUS yer sig = drool.gif

I will never look at a taco the same again... E15.gif riiight.gif
